Newb here. Any advice would be great

    Hello there,
I am a 21 year old college student who is thinking of starting my first cycle this summer. Ive been working out regularly since I was in the 9th grade (about 4-5 days a week) and I have had problems getting bigger and gaining weight the entire time. Im 5'8 140lbs and have been for years now. When I work out heavily I gain about 5lbs and get cut but no real noticeable gains. Ive tried everything possible and this is my last resort. Since im new at this I would like to know your reccomendations for something light to start off with. Ive done a lot of research but I would like a professional opinion.

    Thanks

Hey mate post up your diet and let some of the members review it, i am almost certain that this would be the reason for you finding it so hard to gain. I thought i had the same problem but with some tweeks it will make a hell of a difference

Well, that's not nearly enough protein. I understand you spoke to a nutritionist, but I recommend you speak to folks who have accomplished what you're looking for themselves. You can find those folks over at the nutrition section. Give them a shot and let them critique this diet. In my case, I spoke to member Turkish Juicer who had me add ONE thing (green tea) to my diet and remove ONE other thing (lactose). I'm seeing results already and it's only been a week. Seriously, don't underestimate food.

    Best of luck.

No offense but your diet is horrific, there's no wonder why you are 140lbs. I would not even think about AAS right now because there not necessary and even if you were to use them with a diet like this they would do little to nothing.

Hit the Nutrition section and build a bulk diet, give it about 4 weeks and you will be surprised at the progress you will make with solid diet and training alone. AAS are not the answer. There are some newer members on there that have been guided through in developing a good diet and committing to it and already beginning to see progress.

Thats alot of sugar in the pineapple but besides that like austinite said your protein intake is way to low. 2 eggs in the morning and 3 sausages is a bad start to the day, not to mention they that its all fried im guessing. You should be eating lots of whole grain foods such as sweet potato, brown rice, oats etc. Try in the morning a cup of oats and 5 eggs maybe three whole eggs and two egg whites. Thats about 50 grams of carbs 50grams of protein. (Just an example of what you should aim for).

Also not to mention all that pasta is filled with a heap of sodium which isnt good for muscle development either if you want to eat pasta try aim for wholemeal pasta that way its low gi and is slow digestive.

I recommend eating for lean cut beef for slow release protein and more chicken.

What supps are you taking at the moment if any?

And as Johnnnyblazzze said go make up a sample diet and post it in the diet section those boys will fix it right up.

We can't emphasis proper diet enough. Check out the Nutrition Section and the Hardgainers Sticky. It all starts with what you eat and how you train.
