Does my fat help retain LBM?

I been thinking about this for a bit. When I finished my cycle almost 2 weeks ago I have gained a total of 40-42Lbs. total. Out of this 40 or so pounds about half is useless fat.

Since being on PCT I have not lost any weight or size so far. I eat and I eat then I eat some more. My weight has not changed and my strength is great. Today I benched the most yet.

I am pretty much trying to maintain my fat man state until about a month after PCT before starting to cut.

So, my main question is: If you gain LBM mostly throughout your cycle without the fat(unlike me) is the muscle more likely to come off?

Or: like in my case, if I lose a pound here or there is it more likely to be fat and not muscle that I am losing?

Well, your body will favor excess fat over muscle for fuel in a caloric deficit. So yes, being fat will help preserve muscle if you aren't eating enough.
But if you are eating enough, I wouldn't think it would make a difference.

LoL. . . So there almost a positive for having my squishy padding.

The other good thing I see about having all this fat on. I get to see what kind of diet it takes to maintain my current weight of 225Lbs. And it is a lot of fvcking food.

225 is quite a bit, never seen it that way until I got here.
