How was your first time? (Quad shot)

I had to do my right quad 3 days ago, was very nervous but prepared. Used a 25g 1inch needle.

Got it in, no pain at all, aspirate, inject and done! I thought wow, that was the easiest one ever.

This morning, it was time for the left quad. Same preparation and setup. Got maybe 1/2 way in and BAM, hit a nerve. Slowly took it back out, composed myself, took some deep breathes for a couple minutes. Switched needles, went .5 inches further down and it went smooth as well.
However, squatting SUCKED today. It is painful just to bend down lol. After 3 sets it got better, and managed to get great workout.

So I ask you, how was your first time? (Or last lol)

Ive never hit a nerve. I typically go in so slow that I can feel if im approaching one.

Lucky man. I went in real slow as well, I think that's why I was able to control my hands and movement and slowly pull out.

Quads are my least favorite of any body part. I wound up back loading slim pins. Slow but no pain or soreness later on. I know I am a wuss. But I can walk. Lol

Hitting a nerve was child's play to me when i compared it to my quad twitching as i was injecting w/a 1.5" buried. That made me a little nervous.

    Ohh jeez.

I'm getting ready for my first cycle, soon as I drop another 4% in bodyfat.

Now reading about folks hitting a nerve.

Just thinking about it makes me see spots and get dizzy.

Is upper outer thigh less likely to hit nerves, with a smaller size pin? I got size 5/8th inch 25gg **** for injecting, and size 18 **** for drawing up.

Just going to have to sit in the safe place for another month or so.

Quads are the easiest for me to pin but I still have some very minor pip. However none like my first quad pin. It hurt really bad for over a week and made me walk with a limp. I can vouch for the term "virgin muscle". They still twitch some but you get used to it. Stay with it....it'll get better.

Virgin quads were definitely the most painful.........Days without being able to bend my legs completely.

I would use 1" for quads and delts, longer for glutes.

Rotated quads quite a bit this cycle, never hit a vein never hit a nerv, or aspirated blood. touch wood.

Here is some links from another post of mine so you can understand the anatomy of your thigh.

The last image url shows you the vein/neve that you have a possibility of hitting, when coming in from the side.

Break in the muscles with some B12 injections. I ONLY inject in quads and I can usually not tell where exactly I pinned the next day from pain or sight. Curious as to how Prop will feel when the time comes though...

I must have good luck with my quads. The first time I pinned they was a little sore but nothing even close to a very heavy leg day. I have had the muscle twitch several times. Does not bother me one bit. Only thing that does suck in both quad and glut is when u go to start injecting it starts to hurt right away. Only thing is I can think is that I'm right on a nerve. I don't get the pin in more then an eighth of an inch and I know it will be one of those painful spots. I just take it out and move about an inch over and normally there's no issues. I have continued with the injection on these painful spots and it will burn and I will have a bruise there the next day but that really only happens in some spots on glutes.

Luck you. I still cant give myself one. I try daily, but get the shakes and clammy feeling like crazy. I dont have a problem at all if someone else give one, but trying to do it myself is a freaking nightmare! I think if I could do 2 or 3 shots, I would be fine. I just start thinking "how deep? what if I hit a vein?" and the likes.

Nervous as hell...bled when I withdrew the pin. After that, it got easier and went better.

I don't know why but twice in my life I have passed out while giving blood samples and I wasn't even looking either time. It pissed me off to the point where I HAD to overcome the fear (even thought I didn't feel I had any fear). So I started injecting B12 for practice. First couple times I sat on the floor in a position where passing out would do no harm. I was nervous but nothing happened. Then I progressed to the long, slow, deep, Test injections. No problems. After that I started looking forward to injections and injecting other people. Now I could care less and just do it when it needs to be done. It really baffles me that people are having pain pinning quads. Maybe you guys are injecting too fast? That is the beauty of self injecting, you can slow down or pause for a while when you feel pain. My ritual has become to float the ampoule in warm water while taking a hot shower. Warm oil and warm relaxed muscles helps too. Hitting a nerve or nicking a vein really is over worried if you ask me. If you are working out right you will get more sore from the exercise than from the quad shot if you do it right.
