Is it legal to possess Steroids in Thailand?
I know they are easy to get in Thailand but does anyone actually know for sure whether or not it is legal or illegal to possess them.

Thanks, any date on this info as I found some bits and pieces on the web that allude to the law being changed in the last few years to make possession illegal hence my question for anyone with definitive knowledge on the topic.

I don't know how true that is about Canada, unless you have a large quanity with intent to traffick you should be fine, I believe you can buy steroids and possess them just not sell them if that makes sense!!

The reason I ask is that it is low season in Bangkok and local police are very hungry with few farangs around and have been stopping westerners in my area looking for ways to earn. When i tell them to go ##%ck themselves I just want to be sure on the steroid front as they do threaten to search ones residence. Anyone know for sure or do need to go see a lawyer?

I would not tell them to go fvck themselves even if you are in the right 100%. It's their country, not your. Be polite, smile a lot, say yes sir, no sir and pass a little tea money if you have to but at least give them a bow of respect. You DONT want to spend even one night in a Thai jail and typically it wont be one night, it will be weeks before you get in front of a judge. Dont have the attitude many people from the US have that you cant do anything to me because I am from the US, AUS or xxx.
Dont carry anything on you if you dont have to. Leave everything in your room safe and dont do anything to stand out.

Yeah Ive seen it to many times and nothing good ever comes from it be it abroad or local. I have a buddy I went to Mexico with once who had this attitude and I told him straight up if he gets arrested I am no backing him and may not be to quick to bail him out. Anytime I am in Thailand or Philippines and I see a police officer I give them a smile and appreciative head nod and have never had an issue. It's always good to know a little of the local language so you can nicely say hello, thank you and goodbye. Sa Wa Di khrup = Hello, khaawp khoon khrup = thank you, am laa or Sa Wa Di khrup = goodbye
You want to say khrup at the end of each one (sounds like crap) but it's a show of respect or being polite from a male.
Spelling may differ but it's close phonetically.

Yeah okay, maybe i over stated my intentions. I would do it in a polite way.
Anyway, i did consult legal advice and it is illegal to possess steroids here but they can not search your home without a court warrant but they can do anything they like on the street.

That list posted above is a bunch of bullshit.
Over here in Canada you can totally buy anabolic steroids with a perscription. Who made this list up and where did they get this "not at all" bullshit from? As well, AAS here in Canada fall under schedule IV substances, which means it is perfectly LEGAL to posess and use AAS for your own personal use. Sale and trafficking is illegal.
Schedule IV: It is not an offence to possess a Schedule IV substance for personal use; however, Subsection (2) of Section (4) of the CDSA states that "no person shall seek or obtain a substance or authorization from a practitioner to obtain a substance in schedules I through IV." Subsection (7) then states that it is an indictable offence to contravene subsection (2). Therefore, it is an indictable offence to attempt to acquire a Schedule IV substance but not an offence for possession. Section 5 provides that possession for the purpose of trafficking of a Schedule IV substance is an offence.
