Explain water retention reasoning
I always see people suggest that water intake needs to be increased when there is water retention. I don't understand how drinking more water influences less retained water? Is it that your body needs so much and if it doesn't get it then it stores it? Idk it just makes little sense to me but I'm not doubting anyone just would like to learn.

Simply if you are dehydrated, then your body will retain water as a safety precaution. If you take in more water than you need, your body will flush out what it doesn't need. This includes previously stored water under the skin.

You are correct. The less water you drink, the more bloated you will get because the body will try to hold on to as much water as it can hold at that time. This is bad for a big number of reasons, one of which is that without proper hydration and water flow through the body, your body will be unable to properly flush regular toxins out of itself. On the other hand, the MORE water you drink, the less bloated you get because the body has a fresh constant supply of H2O for it to carry on its metabolism and bodily functions, and therefore has no reason to needlessly retain large amounts of water in an effort to prevent dehydration.

Thank you guys for the reply. I just was told that my face is round lmao. I got to thinking tho I'm drinking a lot of water. 9+ 17 oz water bottles a day is all I can fit in plus other liquids such as coffee and milk which I know don't count but it's part of the reason I can't drink any more. I feel like my ade is at the right dose now tho so maybe I'll just continue to drink more and more water

Are you on cycle right now?
Sometimes you won't be able to get rid of water retention by drinking more, you'll have to use an AI to lower estrogen. If estrogen is signalling to your body to hold on to water.... there's nothing you can do to eliminate that aside from eliminating the estrogen itself.

Yes I'm in 8th week of test cyp 500/wk and I'm using adex. I started at .25 eod and increased slowly to .40 eod and noticed how shitty I was feeling I felt I need o lower and now I'm at .25 eod an feel great. Bp is in a slightly elevated range and not holding much water except for face. Nipples were a bit puffy and that's why I upped the dose but I clearly took too much and that was a shitty time. I've never felt so bad. So how does a bb dry out before contest? I know they dehydrate but now it seems counterproductive. I'm assuming that you force your body to hold zero water because it has to release it even if nothing is comin in but timing would be crucial

No no don't take it that way. Its not a healthy thing to do if you don't have to. You progressively up your water intake to 1.5-2 gal of water a day. All you do is piss. 36 hrs before the show you drop all liquids. 24 hrs out you start your diuretic. A 16 oz water bottle cap. You can fill and sip. The over loading of water has your system expelling so fast it doesn't have time to realize there's nothing left. You are dry. Thats why I was like don't worry about it it's not good for the system. No disrespect intended. Just don't want people saying oh I'll do that

Oh. Lol. You never get snappy and it took me by surprise. Sorry I have always wondered that tho. That's a really smart approach. There's more to bodybuilding than people like myself know about. I'd really love to try it one time but I'm gonna be small really no matter what I do and I'd never get on stage if I was super small. I have to carry a bit of bf around to feel comfortable. It's the only way I know how. I do think I'll cut my bf before next cycle tho. You guys are so right about that. I'm already thinking about what to do next. I didn't have the kind of results I was looking for. I have gained about 14-15 pounds and hope like hell to keep Half of it. I'll probably do same amount of test next cule just prop instead of cyp. Prop ftw
