    rubber floating in my test

so I've drawn from this vial maybe 4-5 times and today I noticed a piece of the rubber from the stopper floating in the oil. I must have punctured the same place twice and it just ripped off. its a very small piece, but definitely noticeable.

    I was drawing with a 20g 1.5 in needle.

so my question is....do I have to toss the vial? I would rather not because it is 2/3 full, but I also dont want an infection. can I just be careful and be sure not to draw up the rubber?

It's fine you sterilized top of stopper befor you put needle through. Bottom of stopper sterile. It came out of a sterile needle. Your fine

You probably couldn't draw it up if you had to. But avoid it.You ever put the cork all the way down a wine bottle then try to get it out with a napkin? Same thing no napkin though.

    That's interesting.

I often have test floating in my rubber, but never the other way around.

Damn I wish I'd thought to say that. I will have to give you that one. You not going to try and get the test out of the rubber are you?

HK2.0 or jr. would've worked. I can't fault you for wanting to have such a bad-ass name.

OP, don't try to pull the rubber up in the syringe and you'll be fine.
