    cipro and tendons

I searched the forums and only found questions regarding liver problems while taking cipro. However,I just read the info on cipro on one of the medical websites and it says it can cause tendonitis and tendon rupture. Has anyone else heard of tendon problems while taking this? I am already struggling with tendonitis in my forearm and possibly hand now the dr puts me on this for a possible urinary tract infection. Do dr's not read these possible side effects? The dr knows I have tendon problems right now.

UTIs don't require a very long course of antibiotics. You should be fine.

you may also need to worry about how you got the infection in the first place. stone? stricture?

if your doc did a urine culture, you may be able to switch to a narrow spectrum antibiotic instead, depending on the bacterial growth and sensitivity

Thanks guys. The dr thinks it was from a stone. Was getting strange pain moving around from back to bladder and testicles. Went to urgent care and they couldn't find anything pain went away but has come back but only in bladder area and left testicle,so my reg dr did the urine culture and saw bacteria and white blood cells. Thanks guys
