Injection infection? Help needed!
Hey guys, I was hoping some of you could chime in with some advice regarding a problem I've been experiencing since my last pin.
I pin twice-a-week, 200mg of Deca and 250mg of test enanthate mixed in about 2ml of solution into my glutes, alternating frim left to right. My cycle just started two weeks ago, so this was my third pin. Anyways, I've experienced a little soreness after IM injections, but this time around I could barely sit the day after and the pain has lingered, with my right buttock appearing swollen. Four days later, the pain is still there. I am going to a clinic today to get a script for antibiotics if necessary, and am hoping I don't have a deep access that needs to be packed and drained. My injection practices are not in question here - if there was any contamination, it came from the product, which is unfortunate, because it is from a large, well-known Canadian lab that I've always believed was gtg. I've seen posts from people who claimed to have gotten infections from this brand, but shrugged off the claims.
Besides visiting the clinic, what should I do? Do you think boiling the gear by heating the glass vials in a shallow pan of water will make it safe to use, or should I trash these vials and hope the other ones are cleaner? What's strange is that I've had a few pins from these vials without problems, so why would this particular injection suddenly cause problems? Is it possible that I don't have an infection? This has really upset me, because my last cycle was derailed on account of injury, this one was also almost derailed due to other reasons, and now it might end up getting derailed anyways due to contaminated gear and an infection.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thanks,
TOkidd

You mean throw all the gear away? Damn. What kind of PCT would you recommend for a two-week cycle? You don't think boiling the gear would sterilize it?

Man, that sucks. I should really let folks know the name of the lab, along with the batch # because it's a very popular source for Canadian bodybuilders. It's also been discussed at some length on this forum in another section, with just about everyone giving it the green light. Where would the appropriate place to post this information be if it does indeed turn out to be an infection?

austinite:
I don't want to post the name of the brand just yet, because I'm not sure it's truly an infection. All I have is pain and some swelling 4 days after the injection. I've read quite a few posts about infections, and I'm really not sure if that's what this is, but I've certainly never had this length of pain after an injection of AAS.

I have a buddy that read that subQ injection of Test was superior over IM. He took a couple of syringes of Test from my Prop bottle and subQ injected into this abs. He got such a violet reaction. It looked like an infection. The injection area was red, angry, swollen, and painful to the touch. I inject the exact same Prop into my glutes and nothing... So he injected subQ the second time and the same violent reaction. The next day I take the same Prop and inject my glutes and nothing again. I'm not convinced that all red and swollen reactions are infection. I think the body just reacts to the different esters. I have zero clinical evidence, just my gut feel.

get an autoclave and cook your bottles on 250F and 15 PSI pressure for 35 mins. its gonna sterilize your gear for good.

Sorry it has taken me so long to update this post, but I thought it was important because I did not have an infection - just a bad shot, probably too fast which resulted in injured/bruised tissue. Since a couple people have pm'd me asking for the name of the lab, I thought it was important to tell the community (especially the Canadians) that the lab's stellar reputation should not be tarnished by my infection scare - because that's all it was, a scare. I've finished all the gear from that bottle without any further problems.
Thank-you to all the posters who contributed helpful advice to his thread.

Keep your hand steady when injecting. It's very common for muscle damage to be mistaken for an infections because it has similar visible symptoms. Redness, warm, hardening. The needle tip is pretty much a blade and movement will cause micro tears and muscles dont like that
