    open a PO box?

I was looking at opening a PO box at the post office for online ordering, is that dumb? or shady? I mean i still have to pick it up, i am just looking for an alternative to sending it right to my doorstep. Just wondering if this is a good idea or not. thanks!

Keep in mind some couriers will not ship directly to a PO box. There are small mail centers that offer PO-like boxes. These look like PO boxes but are assigned suite numbers as if it's a physical address (e.g. 123 Anywhere Pl, Suite 456, Some City, Any State, Zip). I find these are less of a problem than actual "PO" boxes issued by USPS.

it puts up a firewall between you and your "shady" source. I don't like the idea that a source for something that can get me in trouble has my home of record. The PO box is a way of controlling that issue. When transporting your package back home, do NOT open the box until AFTER you are safe in the security of your home. If you get pulled open, and your package is still unopened, a search warrant would be needed for the cops to take a look at the contents of your package. If it is already opened, just know they will look inside.

....is too expensive. A small PO Box for 6 months is very inexpensive.
