Looking for a seasoned users perspective
Hello, I have a hypothetical question, I would really appreciate a response, even a stab at a real retort, despite the hypothetical nature of the question.
If I gained 20 lbs pure muscle over the course of a 6 month cycle, (Never having done steroids before) and then stopped doing steroids forever, how much (if any) of this new lean mass could I hope to keep if I continued lifting for the rest of my life? Or is it that it is completely lost without continued usage?
Thanks a lot.
6ft 1in, 210 lbs, 16 years lifting, about %12 bodyfat, have never used steroids. 35 years old.

No one can answer this with any certainty. It's all diet, training, PCT, Sleep and more-dependent. But a 6 month cycle for a first timer is just silly and unnecessary. 20 lbs; or more could be gained from a standard cycle. You're better off running 2 cycles and retaining 20 lbs from them with slow quality gains.

Thank you.
Lets assume I had a sound diet, training, PCT and sleep. And let us say I managed to gain 20 lbs from a standard cycle( Is this 3 months?)
I agree it is impossible to answer with certainty, however I was hoping you could give me a range of percentages (Ie. 10 to 20%?) of the 20 lbs I could realistically keep after getting off the steroids .....(you seem to indicate about half could be maintained, which seems fantastic)

I'll just let others chime in.

The reason that it's difficult to give a hard number is because of the very nature of how steroids work. The affects will be different from one person to the next. @ exact ppl could use the exact amounts, eat the exact diet, do the same exact training and never have the same exact results. You cant quantify genetics!
if all you are looking for is a hypothetical answer to your hypothetical question I would say that if you gain a true 20lbs and you are able to keep and maintain 5-8 lbs you are dong great! Some will argue that you keep hald or that you should keep 15lbs but I dont think thats realistic over a long period of time without continued cycling

I see. This would indicate I could hope to keep 15 25 to 40 pct, which is sounds very good to me. Really, keeping ANY of it sounds terrific, (though I have to say the skeptical part of me thinks that , even with continued lifting and optimal conditions, ALL of the gains would eventually be lost, since the supraphysiological amount of test is no longer present to support the gain)

I honestly believe I am close to the upper limits I can gain naturally, as I have a bit of experience lifting. So I guess I should expect to lose more than someone who isnt close to their upper limits. Makes sense.

if your body is as far as it can go then no, you wont hold AAS gains. the body is brilliant at getting shot of what it knows it doesnt need.
*sits back and waits for the 'im aesthetic brah' bellends to completely rubbish the post*

IMO. Dec is 100% spot on..

Gains (although not noticed immedietly) will start to slip in as soon as two weeks once you are off. Or at least that is what I have seen and witnessed on the scale. Regardless of how you eat and train, you will eventually slip back to what your body considers "nornal" or sustainable without the addition of AAS.
