The best place to get unbiased information is from books and proper medical literature, as well as forums such as these. To answer your main question, no, doctors do not 'shoot up people with steroids for mostly cosmetic reasons'. Doctors are not allowed to perscribe anabolic steroids for anything other than a handful of medical conditions, none of which include physique or performance enhancement. The medical establishment and the fda do not recognize anabolic steroid use for this purpose as a legitemate use. Therefore, in north america, any doctor perscribing anabolic steroids in such a manner is risking his job, reputation, and medical license.
