First time and 45 yrs old

I am a 45 year old male and have never experimented with any steroids. I have worked out of and on for 25 years. I have no interest in serious body building. Only to look like and feel like I am in sold shape. At my best, I was 178 lbs (5'11") and about 11% BF. That was probably 3 years ago after 270 days of P90X. However I gained little size and my face looked a bit emaciated. I'd like to add some more significant size and lean out...I'm open to any advice and opinions as to how to get a bit more ripped without looking like a roid monster...just look great at the beach/pool and if it helps with libido, all the better...I was thinking about a simple 12 week cycle of testosterone then 2 weeks of nothing and then 4 weeks of Nolvadex....the cycle recommended on this site for beginners...more questions to follow for sure, but any advice is welcome.

    Mate,
Have you checked to see if you have low T yet? at 45, in all likelyhood you do. Optimizing your T levels can make a world of difference on a number of diffferent levels. this is something your insurance will probably cover, but you have to go about it the right way.

Like a potatoe chip....one is never enough. By the end of your cycle at 500 mgs a week, you will feel like a new man and not want to return to the old man.

No, if not needed its a lot to maintain, gets old after the first year.

Good advice for the OP is to get blood work and establish baseline values before starting AAS or HRT if indicated.

THanks all for your feedback....I am getting up to speed on this. I will go to doc and check my test levels. As a side note, I had testicular cancer in 1997 and had one of my boys removed. I was 30 at the time and had 2 kids after that....Test levels then were supposedly normal....but I am guessing they are lower now...Thanks again

I'm 43 and better shape now than when I was 21! Sad, but true!

One of my colleagues had testicular cancer and recovered completely. Wife, three kids. Perfect health now. Diet an exercise are a daily part of his life plan.

^^^^Stop it. You guys are still young! 42-43 I can barely remember it..........What?....wait....huh? Who said that?

Op, head over to the HRT Forum and begin by reading all the stickies. Great info for you there. Then like TR said, get full blood work done to see where your at and establish baselines. There are examples of blood work in the Finding a Doc sticky.

Difference is Kel you are probably in better condition than most 25 year olds and are far more educated on nutrition, HRT, and training than most!!!

That's exactly what worries me MI. I'll probably code out one day during squats and every fat body will say "See, told you all that lifting and shiat wasn't good for you." Problem is I won't be able to defend myself at that point! I've seriously had that dream many times! Strange how the mind works...

You strike me as a guy who goes to great lengths to make his health a top priority. I expect you'll be griping and lifting for a long time to come!
