Don't actually heat it. Just warm it up if you want (you don't have to). You can just put it in a cup of warm water or run your hands together and hold it. But don't try to put it in an oven or put a lighter to it. I've heard of people doing some dumb shit.
wow....i thought people were really heating it.....like to sanitize it or something....lol
You aren't the first. Don't do it lol
Heat & pin- holy OUCH! Never had an internal burn, but imagine it'd be worse than most. I doubt someone would pin a hot ash load but they do put rediculous warnings on packages for a reason!
Room temperature is fine to inject with. I have never tried warming gear, some ppl do it just so the oil flows more freely. But yeah, WARM, not hot!![]()
Some people warm it (with the methods mentioned above) to thin the oil thinking it will give them less post injection pain. I think it is mostly a myth.
post injection pain......thanx for answering my un asked question regarding PIP
I'm new to all this as well, only 7 injections under my belt so far and have tried both warming and not. The best way I've found to deal with PIP is to take a hot shower before infection then work out that muscle group (if possible). Viola! No Charlie horse feeling.
Warming the oil is a waste of time and will not do a damn thing to combat PIP. This myth angers me more than any other one out there! PIP is caused mainly by the amount of BA and BB in the gear or by an unsteady hand causing micro tears in the muscle.

I've tried heating some prop by putting the amp in a hot cup of water for 10-15 min. I did that for a couple of weeks then tried it w/o heating the gear. Absolutely no difference...I think Lunk1 is spot on with the reasoning of PIP.
I should have added that I also noticed no difference what so ever.
