    Anavar Decreased Libido

    Hey guys,

Just have a scientific question for you. I understand that many users have decreased sex drive while taking oxandrolone. I'm curious as to whether this is caused by the shutdown of natural testosterone production or if it effects libido independently of it's negative feedback effect on the HPTA? For example, if someone were to run anavar with a TRT dose of testosterone would sex drive still suffer despite the presence of physiological(or supraphysiological) testosterone levels?

Running anavar by it self will shut down natty test more then likely. If your on TRT you will be fine. You are pinning test each week.

It's the estrogen that becomes a problem. Not the testosterone directly.

This is why Test with orals is always suggested. Var will either suppress or shutdown test production dependeng on dosage. A decent TRT dose will keep everything functioning as it should!

Sworder is correct. Suppressing your natural testosterone will affect libido, ED, mood, etc. just as rising estrogen levels in the absence of an AI will create the same problems - which is why test-bases and AIs are usually recommended for every cycle.

So assuming the user was dialed in on TRT+AI+HCG, the addition of a moderate dose of anavar shouldn't have any effect on libido?

I would like to say no but the old rule that everyone reacts differently, still always applies!

Shouldn't have much of an impact unless your var dose is ridiculously high. That said, why add var to TRT anyway? Your TRT isn't a proper cycle. Why treat it as one.? Your TRT serves a purpose just as properly designed real cycles serve a purpose.

It's merely a hypothetical question MuscleInk. Thank you all for your input though, much appreciated!

    It isn't the Anavar directly.

It shouldn't. Musclescience has posted studies on Var showing a dose and duration dependent suppression level of 30-60%. It lacks the androgenic/estrogenic value to really shut you down.

We're talking low estrogen, I hope?

Yes, of course! Most difficult to get high estrogen when you are supplementing with a substance which will not aromatase.

Good, just checking to see that we're all on the same page...
