Can HCG be used in replace of clomid?

From what i've read I don't think it can but can HCG be used in replace of clomid? Tell me what you guys think. I dont understand the diffrence between HCG and clomid. I know the both increase the natural test levels that may have decreased from AS. I will keep hitting the search and reading but if anyone can help thad be great.

HCG reverses testicular atrophy and 'pumps' your testicals back up by dirtectly stimulating the testicles. However this direct stimulation is short lived and HCG does not stimulate the endocrine (hormone) system

Clomid stimulates the endocrine system, the Hypophysial testicular axis (spelling?) or HPTA. It basically gets everything working again properly.
