Test Prop First Cycle
Hi,
First post and first cycle, probably heard it all before, hahaha!
Anyways, my stats, 33, 5.7", 160lbs, 6%bf (as per DXA scan 2 weeks ago).
Been lifting for a few years, have my hands on 50ml (5 bottles) Test Prop.
Nolva for PCT, no AI, but then my friend at the gym reckons that 100mg eod (thats what im on) is unlikely to cause me any issues, he can sort this though if required, said it would probably just hinder my gains.
Anyway, I started last Monday so 9 days ago, my diet is spot on, approx 500cal over maintenance and clean eating, 300g protein daily, my weight has gone up by about 6lbs, but i'm guessing thats mostly water weight as my strength has just remained and my abs look kinda blurry. Oddly though, vascularity is still looking good with veins popping up in abdomen region.
No size or strength gains yet, but my forehead has been getting oily as hell and i've been feeling pretty irritable for the last week, i've read these are sides of test, what do you guys reckon? Libido is pretty similar to what it was really, possibly slightly improved, but could be placebo. Most noticeable thing is definitely greasy forehead, its not a good look!
Question is, should I be expecting strength/size gains round about now?
I monitor my lifts closely and have been for a while so I know exactly what I can lift so I'd notice changes straight away.
I've had a trawl around the forums and some people say 3-4 days, some people say 2-3 weeks before size and strength gains are noticable, massive difference there in opinions, I know that different people react differently, but 2 week difference is pretty significant.
Can anyone shed any light on this and give me a rough gauge as to timeframes and what I can expect?

First, Welcome. Second, you need to get an AI. The nolva alone might suffice but best to get some Clomid to go w/it. Got any carbs in that diet? And yeah, you will be seeing gains very shortly.

Yes it will be kicking in shortly and you do need a Ai.Wat are your goals for this cycle? I would run your diet by our diet section beacuse you are on the light side.And if you aint eating right you wont keep anything you get.Everyone thinks their diet is spot on.

I've had a personal trainer with an excellent rep for the last few months to tailor my diet and my lifts went up, plus I dropped several % in bodyfat so I know my diets gtg, its just been adjusted to bulk.
160lbs at my height and bodyfat percentage is pretty good I thought, if I was over 12%bf i'd agree, but i'm only a short ass and i've never done AAS before.
My past training partner had trained for 10 odd years naturally and maxed out his genetic potential at 166 5'6", circa 5% bf so I thought now was a good time to start...

Oh yeah, sorry missed your question - my goals are just to park some more muscle mass on my frame - if I can get up to 170lbs at similar bodyfat, i'll be pretty pleased.
Because i'm only small, I reckon the extra 10lbs will be definitely noticeable.
I saw a guy at the gym who moved house a while ago and he's recently appeared in my gym, its been probably a year and he's huge now, he's gotta be on the juice, he's a couple of inches taller than me but jesus, the difference from when I last saw him is massive.
I haven't spoken to him about it, he'd probably deny it if I asked him, but he's kinda where I want to be at in a couple of years, not really helpful here because you havent seen him, 170lbs is my goal at the mo anyway, i'll take it from there once i've attained the extra size and strength.
I'm not going to lie, its probably more cosmetic differences i'm after than huge strength although it is nice to know my lifts are going up. Thats why i've kept my bodyfat down, I dont want the flat look you get when your bf rises up 10%, been there and done that, was 200lbs, tubby and unhappy a few years back so keen not to revert back to my old ways.

my first cycle was similar, i used propionate alone at just over 400 mg ew for 8 weeks, within 2 weeks my vascularity had increased significantly and within 4 weeks i had gained about 12 ibs, by week 8 i had gained 20 ibs, i felt the prop kick in almost immediately and started to get some sides at day 2, sounds like your pretty much on track

and i did not run an AI the entire 8 weeks, i retained some water but thats all part of the game when your bulking, my next cycle is probably going to be 20 weeks so i will be considering an AI this time

Cheers man, thats exactly what I was after. Other 2 comments were useful, but I was really after someone elses experience of a similar cycle in the sam position as meas a guideline to see if what I was getting in this timeframe were accurate. Very helpful, thanks dude.
This is gonna sound a little bizarre, but I was munching on a kinda chewy protein bar mid-meals today and my jaw muscle pumped up, not kidding, my face started aching and I looked in the mirror and was like WTF!
Better be careful eating those on cycle or i'm gonna end up looking like Quagmire out of family guy.

Progress
For anyone that reads this thats started with Test Prop, just thought i'd add to the thread.
Day 10 yesterday and jesus, all of my lifts went up either rep or weight wise and the pump, wow, incredible, I added an extra 20 minutes on to the workout without even knowing i'd done it because I wanted to rip up some more sets.
Bench Press was ridiculous, the normal weight I struggle with 6 went up to 11 reps, nuts for only 10 days.
I'm waiting for some bloodwork back, but its gonna take 10 days which is a right pain in the arse, by then, my test levels should be pretty conclusive without a report.
Libido ridiculous this morning, that woke up well before I did, looking forward to seeing some size increased. Vascularity is looking really good as well, eating solid meals with good diet, should get some pretty good results I reckon. Appetite is really raised, ate like a horse yesterday, pi**ed like one as well after consuming a significant amount of water.
Have AI now, thanks guys, will report back soon with more progress but man, stuff is looking pretty damned good, keen to see what the next few weeks will bring.
