Yes, they produce results that are far more significant than anything available over the counter. But they are still nowhere near what most people here WANT them to be. A 12 week cycle will not turn someone into Jay Cutler. To obtain physiques like that, assuming one has the genetics for it, requires YEARS upon YEARS of cycles one after the other. Just as how the average joe blow out there thinks that AAS are magic pills that allows you to wake up the next morning looking like Jay Cutler (and we all facepalm at that don't we?), we too within the AAS using community have very similar misconceptions among ourselves. This is also why some people will do a cycle and wonder "WHY ISN'T MY GEAR WORKING!?". Well, its because you've expected far too much out of AAS! And guess what - the gains diminish less and less as you make more progress cycle after cycle until it gets to the point where you'd be lucky to get even 5 lbs. of lean mass out of one cycle!
2 - Not everyone is using AAS to become the biggest guy out there. It's not everyone's goal to be massive. We tend to think that AAS users (especially the more experienced users) are gigantic beasts when we see they have 5+ years of cycling under their belt or whatever. The truth is that less than 20% of us have the genetics to be anywhere NEAR as huge as a pro, let alone the fact that many of us aren't even aspiring to have physiques like that. Almost 4 years ago I got pretty big, I reached about 225 lbs. at 10-13% bodyfat but I lost it all when I hit a period where I couldn't maintain my nutrition and training. It takes A LOT of consistency in one's nutrition to get big and remain that way, and it can be lost very easily by a little slip-up here and there. Although I do eat 6x a day and I intake 2500-3000 cals on average to maintain what I have, I am happy where I am. I'm working to get just a bit closer to what my largest was a few years ago before I lost it, but being the biggest motherfvcker in the gym is NOT my goal any more. And as many younger guys around here get older, they'll realize that too! I have a type of physique in mind that I wish to obtain and maintain, and i'm happy with that. Not every experienced vet and AAS user has to be a big huge massive cow, you know...
