Question Where does testosterone go after injection?

I've tried googling this several times without success, but I am very curious and want to understand where testosterone goes and where it hangs out while the ester chain is broken down (if I understand correctly). So basically, where does it go after it's injected into the quad for example?

its the basic principles of pharmacokinetics. I'd type it all here but it would just get confusing due to the depth of the topic and each process it involves that branches out to more processes and requires a bit of background of medical terminologies..

Simplified as best as I can; (all taken Drugs in general, whether oral, iv, im, sublingual, et al.)
first is absorption, the movement of the drug into the bloodstream for distribution to the tissues. second is distribution, the drug is then transported by the bloodstream to its site of action. Here is where the drugs reach their site of action, then you have to know about plasma proteins, receptors and etc etc...
Third is metabolism, this involves the biochemical alteration of a drug into a potent active metabolite (conversion to its active form). note: The organ most responsible for metabolism is the liver BUT not the sole one. Hence, if
you take too much stuff your liver will pay for it same goes with alcohol.
last, is excretion, elimination of drugs from the body by urine, feces, sweat, tears are some examples

if you want to learn more about it, just google "pharmacokinetics" or "drug metabolism"
I believe some graphic representations are
    available too.

Thanks. So the test is absorbed through the blood stream, transported to their site of action (androgen receptors I'm assuming)? Then the test waits there until the ester is broken down? Something like that?

No. It cannot bind to androgen receptors or anything else until the ester chain is cleaved off by esterase enzymes. Until then, it is either sitting in the muscle in depot, or circulating in your bloodstream.

    hi bane,
would you consider the liver more an organ for metabolism or an organ for excretion?
