    customs

im new to these forums and wondered if any of you guys can give me advice. i had a package of 120 amps of test seiezed back in october and havent ordered anything since the beginning of december. i changed p.o.boxes and went to a new post office, but used my same real name. it was sent by ems and has been sitting in customs since the middle of december and just today i checked the tracking and it left san fransisco. my question is should i not pick it up? i dont care about the gear its only 60 amps. what is the amount you think that they will consider more than personal use just a guess? im not planning on picking it up because i am certain it has been opened considering the way my source packages stuff. The main thing i want to know is if you dont go and sign for it can they technically search your house? i cleaned my house and am storing my pc for a bit at a friends. is there anyway that i can still have charges and possibly jail time.? thank you

You're always better off sticking to a local source, try to avoid anything that has to cross the border. As for signing any pick up slips you should be ok. It could of been a present from a relative or a friend from out of town.

If you just leave it alone and consider the gear a sunken investment you should be fine. That's not a lot of gear, they've undoubtedly got better leads to follow. Unless they have a way to charge you and flip you to get a source, federal authorities won't be interested in you. 60 amps isn't much and without a lot more effort they won't be able to file an intent to distribute charge. It's a near certainty that any local investigator/prosecutor would have no interest in such a small matter.
