    Question Where to begin?

Please let me know if I'm not asking this in the right thread or asking the wrong questions. Obviously I'm a n00b so be nice! hah...

Anyway. 37yo male, 5'7" 175lb. I'm not looking for huge huge gains (though if I could I would love to be closer to 190). I'm mostly looking to lose body fat and gain a healthy amount of muscle. I saw that when signing up for the fourm, I was sent a link for a free bottle. I have no clue which to choose or w here to begin.

Also I just completed p90x.. I felt that it was a pretty good routine for me, but I really didn't gain much muscle (some but I'd like to feel like I'm gettting something out of my workouts).

So any advice you guys can give would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

Lets say its time to start reading. Get a gym membership and start training. Check out the nutrition forum and get what your eating adjusted to meet your goals. What your looking for is not drugs.

Thank you for the tips! I have a very very hard time gaining weight through diet and exercise. ALways have. My entire life I've been around 160, but recently (say around 35) I've been slowly gaining fat and haven't been able to keep it off. I will start with the nutrition fourm as you suggested.

Those who believe they are hardgainers, which it sound like you think you are. Most of their problems are in their diet. Especially approaching late 30s you're really gonna need it dialed in.
Once you get your diet and training regimen perfected, then start reading up on AAS.

Welcome! Sounds like the nutrition section would be your best bet to start. Keep in mid you're short, 160 solid muscle isn't very small for your frame. We get guys weekly 6' and taller who are 150....

I've been going over the diet section for the past few hours now. Pretty daunting.. lots of information. Is there any simplistic diet plans that can get me started? Right now I'm watching Milos Sarcev "Secret of the Pro's" on Nutrition --

Pretty educational! Army - you're 5'8" so we're similar in height. Any tips?

I came come up with something pretty simple -

    270 grams protein, 200 g carbs, 65 g fat...That puts you at 2,465 calories a day.....

Carb sources - Oats, oats and more oats, rice, yams, cream of wheat, ezekiel etc..

Protein sources - Egg whites, skinless chicken breast, extra lean ground turkey, lean beef (Top Round), Protein shakes

Fat sources - Essential fatty acids (Udo's choice, avocado, fish oils) etc..

    Workout split -

    Monday - Chest

    Tuesday - Legs

    Wednesday - Back

    Thursday - Shoulders

    Friday - arms

    Sat - Off

    Sun. - Repeat from top

That is about as simple as it can get...I guess
