    Hey, and welcome!

Ok, so you want to loose weight? Good, excellent decision, now look at WHY you need to loose weight, is it because you havent been eating some pills? No, its because you have been eating wrong, and probably not had enough exercise.

So, what needs to change is how, when and what you eat.

I've recently gone from 256lbs @ 6ft, to 170lbs, I USED to think "What can i take to loose weight" Instead of looking at what was wrong in my life.
I also managed to loose most of that weight simply by changing my diet.. thats it.

The best products to use will be clean food, and for proper help in that department, you should hit the nutrition section. There are some reeeeally knowledgeable guys there that will be happy to help you out.

If I were you, I would start with your diet, it would be a good idea to head over to the nutrition forum and post up what you eat in a day and go from there. Dedication is key, and diet and exercise will play a huge role in reaching your goals. you dont need steroids right now, just a good meal/exercise plan.

Firstly, calculate your TDEE, that is your total daily energy expenditure. IE: how much energy you need in a day, just to sustain current weight.

To do this, you take your LBM (lean bodymass, that is your weight -bf%) x15, if you are moderately active, and work out a bit.
I'm going to assume 35% bf, so 258lbs minus 35% is: 167.7lbs LBM

    167.7 x 15 = 2515kcal - This is your TDEE

Now, to loose about 1lbs every week, you subtract 500kcal from your TDEE, and to loose 2lbs a week, you subtract 1000kcal from your TDEE.

Lets say you go at it fairly hard, and want to loose between 1 and 2 lbs a week, then aiming for 1700-1800kcal per day would be a good place to start.

You'll want to make sure that you get at least 1 gram of protein per lb of LBM, every day, divided eavenly throughout your meals, so lets assume 200grams of protein.

Now, 1g of protein is 4kcal
    . 1g of carbs is 4kcal
    - 1g of fat is 9kcal

So from the 200 grams of protein, you already receive 800kcal, that means you have 1000kcal left to "spend" on carbs and fat.
I would suggest letting 300-400 of those cals come from fat, but no more! That means 33-40'ish grams of fat, total, per day. Remember that fat has more then TWICE the calories per gram, compared to carbs and proteins.
And then let the rest of the calories come from good carb sources.

You can also do some carb cycling, where the last meal or two each day contains almost no carbs at all! This will keep the fatburning going, and you'll drop weight faster then you expect.

But really, you should check out the nutrition section, and read the stickies over there. Then you come up with a mealplan, include the macros (protein, carbs, fats) of every meal, as well as the calories, Post it there, and the guys will give you great help and pointers.

at first you can loose alot of fat just by exercising, and cutting back on fast food..

serious dieting like carb cycling is only necessary if you want to get to under the 15% bf mark IMO (which is crazy skinny IMO)

just doing simple things like eating more fruit and veg and less Mcdonalds, and going for a walk every morning (weight training is good too), will bring you good results...

as above the answer is not in a pill...

You shouldn't need to worry about anything at 35%, diet and exercise and you will drop weight like crazy. Best of luck though, all it takes is a little determination and anything is possible
