Excluding painful so-called 'back pumps' which tend to be largely oral steroid-induced kidney pain, this the best definition ever as recounted by The Greatest:

This is my personal experience with muscle pumps. I was on Tren, Test, & Anavar. I'm rolling in training and my arms and back get so gorged with blood that I can barely move my arms. Muscle tissue slides over each other in order to cause contraction. A load on the muscles cause blood into the area so healing and regeneration can take place. The cell experience hypertrophy where the muscle is super saturated with blood. In the engorged condition the cell walls physically can't expand anymore. So the movement of the muscles are limited. There's literally too much blood in the muscles. AAS that cause increase in RBC can cause muscle pumps to a point where it's painful. I'd get a pump in my shin where it felt like the shin muscle was going to tear off the bone. It's really painful.

Not for everyone,,,no. And alot of users never complain of the pumps unless they are lower back or shin areas.

Haha since I have a very physically demanding job, my body is trained in such a way that this rarely happens and never lasts when it does. I suppose u would be more at risk if your sitting at a desk job, sales job...etc then work your muscles out vigorous. But if u are climbing and swing sledge hammers all day your muscles would not be prone to the same shock!

People typically complain about back pumps while using Anadrol. The lower back will respond to any strain upon it through severe tightening of the lower back muscles. When I took Anadrol it was so painful that I had to stop my workouts early, until I discovered the miracle that is Taurine. By taking 5k to 7.5k grams of Taurine before my workout, the back pumps almost completely disappeared.

Personally I only get it in my shins when I run. Tried to run a 5K a few weeks ago and ran it almost 5min slower than normal! Incredibly uncomfortable
