Thread: Missed 1 week of gym

  1. #1
Guys, I'm in week 5 of my 12 week cycle (test-e 500mg pw and Deca, 400mg pw) and I missed 1 week of gym. Although I continued with my injections (2), I'm just wondering how much this has set me back.
I'm 38 years old and have been working out intensely for the last 6 months but overall for a few years.
I didn't go due to a minor shoulder injury.

Will I be ok to get straight back into it on Monday without causing too much of a setback or have I wasted 2 injections for no gain?

    Thanks for the replies.

You'll be fine, think of it as a healing week. Just get back to your schedule and you'll do fine.

No, haven't had any surgery on my shoulder, last 6 months been training intensely in preparation to my cycle, but overall been training for about 4 years, had a knee reconstruction before that so I was out for a full year.

You were smart to take some time off. Its a shame it was during cycle but a potential injury cant be ignored.

There's no doubt that the time off has set back your growth but if you have maintained your diet and maintained your current physical condition then in the bigger picture its better to have rested for that week than having a serious injury occur that takes you out of your training completely.

Regarding your using the gear while not training it is a good idea to stay the course if you can recover from the injury quickly so as to not risk too high of hormonal fluctuations. Id it turns out you cant recover then it is better to go off and start your pct. No sense in putting your body through all that if you cant train anyway.

Good luck in the healing process and on the rest of your cycle.

You will be suprised! The rest will do you good especially at 38. You could always add a wk to your blast.

There's no way this has set you back. You'll be fine. The dumbest thing you could have done was forced training on an injured shoulder...that would have actually set you back. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine. This stuff isn't as magical and dependent on every second of every day as many tend to make it.

Don't misunderstand me, staying consistent is important but crap happens and a week off is not going to change anything. Something I always tell people...."Ronnie Coleman always took off 3 full months every year and he's bigger and better than you."

I routinely take 1 week off every 10 weeks or so...when i return and have rested and healed it's amazing how strong i feel.

    You did the right thing.

Thanks, just as I guessed, I just hope my shoulder doesn't start playing up, I made the mistake of going too hard too soon, but at my age I suppose I shouldn't be doing that.

Thanks everyone, you really made me feel good about this again, I was not only stressing about the injury but also about losing a week of my cycle.
    Thanks again.

A week is fine. I take time off during cycle to help heal and get much needed rest. You're fine.
