    Cycle questions

Hi peoples. This is my first time to be part of a group like this,, got some questions for those who have been around a while. I am 33 and am used to the train your a** off approach of small town coaches. I am used to killing myself when i lift, very heavy weight as much as you can go. Over the years I have lifted on and off. The last 6mnths or so I have decided to stick to lifting as my addiction. I am 5'11" 240 lbs. work construction/ service tech. work. I am in decent shape, not the best. At one point I was 270 and in good shape. My issue is that every time I start lifting my gains in weight and strength "on lifting" increase rapidly and at the 3-4 mnth mark i get frustrated due to the plateau (never able to gain mass even with a**loads of protein).. Was considering a prohormone cycle, too nervous to get the real stuff yet " yes have been researching for about 3mnths" and wondered what advice those of you that have been there could offer as far as do or dont and what results/ side efects you all have encountered??? Thanks for any input you all have

Prohormones will shut you down just like anabolics and oral compounds can be hepatotoxic in many cases.

Plateaus aren't uncommon. Your body will learn to adapt to the stress you expose it to so its not surprising that eventually the strength gains will slow. The same happens with weight loss - fast for a month or two, then people hit a wall.

Before thinking about anything that will mess with your endocrine system, have you taken a close look at your diet and/or training? Are you eating enough to support growth? Are you certain? Are you over training or maybe under training some muscle groups?

There are many factors to discuss before steroids becomes an option.

    Welcome matt.

What is your BF percentage @ 240lbs? And you were 270 and in good shape?? What was your BF then?

Yeah, those little bumps in the road get all of us. The one thing i noticed in your opening was that you said "with a boatload of protein." Well, there's more to a diet than protein. I suggest you head over to the Nutrition Section and post your diet for some free advice from those cats over there. They'll be more than happy to help.

And like MI said, those PH's are no good. Don't waste your time, energy or money.

Stats, like austin was referring to would help a lot too.

Thanks for the input MI. As far as my intake- I am not sure I try to watch caloric intake as well as protein intake as these are the basics I know effect gains and what types of gains. About 200- 240 g of protein a day is all my body really wants, lol. I do tend to overtrain at times due to time constraints (family). I see everyone hyping up prohormones, but i was standoffish and curious for the reasons you stated. As to your inquiry austinite, I know that sounds pretty laughable- I get it. When I use typical bf calculations it is horrible looking, but I am odd build a little too. Iam cursed with short legs (32"), long body, and 35" waist and about 54" chest. At the point of 270 I was into running, mountain biking, and lifting quite vigorously. When I say "good shape" I just meant solid, good b.p., resting heart rate, and stamina compared to the "in shape" guys in these activities with me. I have been down to about 210 before and everyone I know swears I look sick lol. Anyways, glad to be here where I can hopefully expand my knowledge past what I know. Thanx again

Post your typical diet in the nutrition section for a critique and state your goals. Those guys over there are phenomenal and will provide you with the best nutritional help. Once you get that sorted out, you may see improvements naturally before moving to anything aggressive.

Prohormones will affect your neuroendocrine system as much as anabolic compounds an many are oral based and can cause problems with your liver. Very few guys on here will advocate PHs because of the risks and most will say that injectable steroids are a safer alternative when the time is right and your nutrition an training is set to support the gains with anabolics.

Welcome Matt, u just got some solid advise, and i agree with them all. Like they said hit the ntutrition section, and i would also recommend looking into the lifting section. Could possibly find something in there to shock ur muscle into blasting past that platue. Good luck bro.

Welcome Matt! I suggest follow the advice from these guys.

With regards to the pro hormones, they will do the same as AAS. They will also shut you down. Do not for one moment they should be treated differently than AAS. The reason ph's are so dangerous, is because people pop them like vitamin pills, and expect they are not so strong to have any sides. And that is wrong. Most people, on this site, who knows their stuff and are very educated, will suggest that if you decide to do a cycle, that it be a Test only cycle. See link for details http://forums.steroid.com/showthread...e#.UT3QRqV4CS0

I however did a Superdrol (pro hormone) cycle for my first cycle, for the same reason as you stated "The plateau". It worked great for me, and I'm a very hard gainer. I did however run it with all the support that is needed when running AAS. It is an oral cycle, and therefore it is toxic for the liver. You do not have that problem with injectables. If you want to read into it a bit, here is a log of my cycle http://forums.steroid.com/showthread...0#.UT3Oq6V4CS0

I would suggest you read all the information you can, before you make a decision. Read up on First Cycles, Test, Pro hormones, HCG , AI, PCT and SERMS. Whilst you do that, you can get your diet in check.

It will really help to give more info on your body fat %. It is dangerous to cycle with to high body fat % and can increase the chance of side effects. For estimations see these links:
