First timer thinking about trying a cycle.

    Age:34
    Height: 5'8
    Weight:155

I've been lifting for over twenty years now, I used to compete in olympic weightlifting at a national level, I've never done any kind of steroid, but at this point in my life I'm tired of being plateaued at around 155. The most I've ever gotten too was 165, that was with taking protein/weight gainers and creatine and jamming myself with something like 10k calories a day not to mention living in the gym, the moment I stopped any of those things I just start to lose weight. I've read some about this whole process and honestly it's information overload for someone who knows nothing about it. I would like to gain around 20-25 pounds and then be able to keep the weight on without the continued use of steroids. If anyone can get me a good place to start that would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome Bob.

Let's get one thing out of the way... you did not, ever eat 10kcals a day

Now... If you've been lifting for 20 years with little to no results, it's evident that your nutritional plan is suffering considerably. You know what insane is? It's doing the same thing over and over with no results. Not saying you're insane brother, just saying you're going about this the wrong way.

I suggest you post your current diet in the nutrition section for critique by the pro's. AAS will do nothing for you if you're not eating right. You'll end up wasting money and disappointed.

Welcome aboard and best of luck to you.

You were eating 10k calories daily? Is that possible?

    Still remaining at 165lbs max?

I used to train at the olympic training center in colorado springs, our diet was monitored pretty closely, my caloric intake was definitely way up there. Life, work etc. definitely takes it's toll on my diet these days however, I know you're right, my diet isn't where it needs to be at this point. I do know when it was at a better place I could never gain weight however.

What is your TDEE and macronutrient breakdown?

You need to hit the Nutrition Section and build a solid diet foundation.

Without this, you are wasting your time, with AAS or not. It is step 1.

my current TDEE is probably about 2900, as for macronutrient, is that referring to protein/carbs/fat intake percentage? I couldn't even tell you on a daily basis, I'm not very consistent in what I eat at the moment.

That's your issue. You can't gauge why you are not gaining/losing unless you know this information

that's a start. If you are truly not gaining after eating near double your TDEE, you may want to get some bloodwork done. Although I doubt it.

I think you should continue your research here: http://forums.steroid.com/forumdispl...RESOURCE-FORUM

Yea the large caloric intakes were years ago, that's not where I am now. I was just saying even at that point back then it was incredibly difficult to gain weight. I did have blood work done last year, they only thing they found was that I have something called Gilbert's syndrome, it basically just means I have a really high bilirubin count that's produced by my liver. The doctor said it can burn fat really fast etc. I'm not sure if that has something to do with this or not.
