Went to stick myself today in the quad and hit a spot that caused a dual uncomfortable pain and surounding muscles twitched or spasm. When I tried to push the needle the rest of the way in the muscle would twitch again. Anyone experience this before?

It can happen in quads frequently due to the high volume of nerves there...glutes and delts are a bit more forgiving. Sounds like you have ALOT more to learn before continuing down this path!Originally Posted by JoshP8687

I hate bad pins, I bet your next one goes fine. I pin slowly so if I feel something I just pull back up a bit, pause for a second or two and go back in and it's almost always fine.

I'm not denying I have a lot to learn. This is why I joined this forum. This is my first cycle. I can read and learn all day long but knowing and doing is two completely separate things. I have never stuck myself before so I still get a little nervous.

That was your first one?
My first one was horrible, I was sweating like crazy, it was a horrible experience.
I eventually got it and the next one went so much easier. I occasionally have bad pins though, can't figure out why but it is annoying when it happens.

I agree. That's why I took my time. I first joined back in AUG 2012 with gear in hand and ready to go. I waited almost 8 months to get more educated after hearing from the vets. Today was the start of week two and my third pin. All I was getting at was I could have all the knowledge in the world but when it comes to applying it then it can be a different story. In this case injecting correctly. Not a fan of it so I get nervous.

happened to me today, it was my first pin so i didnt know what to expect. I went ahead and injected it. Is this bad?

I dunno about bad pins, new in wrapper, I assume they are good. I have hit a nerve before. I still can't go fast I am slow and steady. I hit a nerve once in a blue moon, quad starts jumping but it usually happens when I am 7/8 deep, I pull back an 1/8 aspirated and push. The only time I pull out w/o injecting is if I aspirated blood. A buddy told me he never aspirates when hitting the glute. wifie was helping me out and it was my glute that aspirated blood......lesson learned ALWAYS aspirate.

Sorry but I have to agree with the above, Lunk1 was pointing out the obvious, not flaming. What the OP experienced had nothing to do with pip or PPI as you put it. He clearly hit a nerve. Anyone with much experience knows this.
