Currently doing a 3 day lifting split & on a ketogenic diet. Planning on going back to carbs for the "bulk" - I just wanted to experiment with the keto diet for awhile. Makes sense how when the body runs out of dietary fat for energy, it will use bodyfat. Only about 3-4 weeks into this CKD and I'm really enjoying how "full" my muscles feel after a carb-up. (Surprisingly full of energy considering I've been "cutting" for over 3 months now)
Anyways - still haven't found the exact training program that I plan on using while on the gear. There is no way in hell I'm going to "create my own" training program, as I think that is setting myself up for failure. Most novice/intermediates who don't follow a certain routine tend to neglect body parts, and miss out on optimal training opportunities while in the gym. So that is something I'm going to dig into deeper as the time gets closer.
Current stats:
6'3"
215lbs
~12%
~2200 cals on keto/day
Macros 170F/170P/under 30C
Every other weekend I have a 24hr carb-up where fat intake is minimal, and carbs are ~ 600g in that 24hr carb-up window.
Really unique and interesting diet - and although you can bulk on it...I'm going to CARBS! Oats, yams, potatoes, brown rice IE: the GOOD stuff! lol
Goals for this cycle would be to pack on as much lean muscle as possible. This will string from the proper nutrition plan while "ON" and not going over-board. I think there will be a fine line between putting on lean mass, and putting on a bunch of weight. Plan is to eat as much as possible, while maximizing muscle mass, & minimizing the fat gain.
