Short workouts when coming off cycle

Hey guys, today was the last day of my second cycle. I made some good gains, and now it's time to focus on PCT, recovery, and keeping my mass. I remember reading somewhere on here that during PCT it's better to train very intensely for 45-50 minutes and only hit the big lifts, as opposed to doing full two hour training sessions like normal in order to maximize muscle retention. Is this true? And if so could someone link me to some literature on the subject? I'm looking to keep as much of my gains as possible. Thanks guys.

2 hour training sessions? Jeez, what do you do for 2 hours?? Do you take a lunch break?

Maintain your routine, just eat like a horse during PCT.

40-50 minutes is all it should take. I like to increase reps during PCT and keep the HR high. If you're in the gym for 2 hours, you're dicking around.

Haha, I like you guys. My workouts have a lot of volume. I don't think I rest between sets much more than any other guys, but who knows?

I'm curious what takes you so long? Unless you cardio for an hour, it just doesn't seem right. Are you doing full body workouts?

I'm in and out in 30-45 minutes. Like I said recently I notice I do 3 sets for most people every 1 set. they rest to long in-between sets and fully recover. They BS or watch TV. I train alone so it also takes less time.

I have a 4 day split actually. But like I said I do a lot of volume. For example on leg days I might do 10-12 sets of squats ass to grass once you add in drop sets, along with 6 sets of leg extensions, 4 sets of donkey calf raises, 4 sets of regular calf raises, and 6 sets of reverse leg curls for hamstrings. That usually takes me 1 and a half to 2 hours.

Back days also include a lot of volume with warmup pullups, lat pulldowns with both a long bar and handlebars, cable pulls, bent over rows, shrugs, glute ham raises, and also extra sets of pullups thrown in to superset. That takes along time as well.

I'm 5' 11", 200 lbs, and around 10% body fat if that's of any relevance.

^ Your're exhausting yourself. You could grow bigger with more efficient training. I'm not telling you to change anything, just suggesting you spend some time in the lifting section for some pointer.

    Good luck man.

Fair enough. I don't pretend that I'm even close to knowing it all. Thanks for the help.
