    Help bicep needs answers

I have had this pain for the last 5 years. Its in the tendons just below and in the lower bicep. Right side. I have had to shovel ibu's to even try and exercise that muscle. Ive tried Deca and a few other cycles hoping it would remedy the situation. Nothing has worked. Any ideas? thoughts or anything that might give me a little encouragment.
    Thanks

From what I can tell the pain is lessened when taking advil anti inflammitory. I have a feeling its very inflamed. The doctor I went to had no answers. He said it was probably inflamed and needed some time off and some anti-inflam medication. Ive taken this for five years on and off, I even took off a year from training, but its still there and sometimes I even get a little of the same pain in the left arm. I just hope it doesnt end the same way as the other. I am going to go make them give me an MRI and see what comes up. I should clarify the location. Its just under the bicep and it radiates up the bicep. The elbow has no pain. Strange pain and i was just hopeing someone else had this type of thing and figured out a way to manage it.

You most likly have what is commonly refered to as golfers elbow. The only cure is rest...you could try a cortozone shot for temp. relief!

Yeah im thinking its going to have to be a cortozone shot. Ive had golfers elbow before or tennis elbow whichever, but this is different. If you push your fingers into your lower bicep where you can feel the tendons. Thats where the pain is.

Yes...golfers elbow effects the tendon running from your lower bicep down your forearm. Tennis elbow on the other hand effects the outside of the elbow. I have been dealing with it for well over a year.

    Or..tendonitis.

OP, stand up straight with your elbows at your side and slowly raise the (fore) arm that's affected to a 45 degree. Now make a fist. Now rotate your fist inside (towards your body) as if you were pouring out a glass of water. Rotate it as far as you can. If you feel SHARP pain you may have tendonitis and certainly have something that needs attention.

I try to lay off things that hurt. Straight bar curls and heavy bicp work suck...stick to compounds.

Thanks I tried your post. No pain while doing that. It only hurts when there is weight against my arm. Like doing curls for example. I can work triceps all day long with no pain, shoulders chest or anything else except biceps. Its so weird, but maybe thats why anti-inflamitory pills dont work. Maybe ill try harder at warming it up before I workout.

So when your working your biceps, mine seem to get better with reps. The first couple of sets damn near kill me, but after three i barely feel it. Its still there and hurting but compared to the first couple of sets not even close.

You can stretch it by placing your palm flat on a bench fingers back forearm foreward and straighten the arm.
Ice and heat therapy but best is lay of the curls brah lol. Stick to coumpound pulling excersises that are already incorperating the bicep

Ive delt with the same thing, only more of tennis elbow, a neoprene elbow brace helped a lot for me, and a good stretch and warm up.

Had the same problem ( I play golf too). Quit golf and quit isolating biceps with anything except hammer curls. It went away

It was just a shot in the dark. It is likely Golfers Elbow like Lunk suggested. I have no experience with that.

But Lunk does. I hear he once caddy'd for Bob Hope..

Are you doing bent-bar curls, or hammer-curl stuff? I used to have a lot of pain just as you describe. By switching to straight bar movements only and keeping my grip flat, I've moved the load up to the peak of my bicep, rather than those tendons. I have no pain in those tendons anymore.
Definitely see a doctor though if it's really bothering you.

and take it easy on it for how over long it takes and an elbow injury can take much longer to heal than you probably wish. Tendon type strains for me can take 4 to 6 months to heal.
