RBC count and grapefruit
I apologize if this isn't the right section, but do you guys know if the entire grapefruit is required for it's RBC reducing effects or can grapefruit juice be substituted?

I'd just donate blood if your hct/rbc is too high

Probably a better idea than grapefruit, lol. Do you guys regularly use GF to keep RBC levels normal? My bloodwork came back and that the things that were elevated were RBC, and kidney function was high. I didn't get the actual values yet, still working on that. In Canada you have a difficult time even getting the Dr's office to answer the phone.

No.. Donating is best. Doesn't hurt to try grapefruit, but I wouldn't fully count on it.

and you have to be careful due to negative interaction of grapefruit with other meds..............

I love grapefruit and its in my diet almost all the time. 1/2 a grapefruit everyday, always eat your fruit instead of juice.
There are possible drug reactions, if your taking any blood pressure meds?
Can not vouch for any RBC lowering effects it can have. As austinite said donating blood would deff be the fastest way to get that done.
