My visit with the postal inspector today how it went

I was expecting a pack from india, just lasix and t3 no biggie, small pack, but i got lazy instead of having it sent to drop on the east coast i had it sent to my home, after all it was no big deal right..

A man 36ish yrs old in dress pants, a polo shirt driving an suv pulls up to my house, comes to the door he has a tag on that says US Postal Service (like a name tag), rings my door bell, I answer it and he says he has a package that i need to sign for... bells are ringing in my head..not sure why that's when i notice his car, and the tag..

I start to sign it's a normal receipt except it doesn't say on it who it's from, I stop, and say, "I'm not expecting a package, who's it from " because there is no return label on the pack or the receipt he wants me to sign.. he says "I think it's from india".. isn't that your name on the package, i say yes, but i'm not expecting a package, he says they can send it back i way "that's probably best because i'm not expecting a package."

    HE LEAVES WITHOUT ANOTHER WORD..

I clean house and all is well in the household..

I sign all the time. No big deal. USPS requires signature on anything over $300. (possibly anything international as well now) Although recently there was some news where LE has shipping companies cooperate with them to find all kinds of stuff, but that is usually halted during shipping, not when it gets to your address. Besides, nothing can be done about an "unopened" package, and well... you wouldn't open it in the presence of anyone anyway. For all they know you could simply throw it out.

Who's to say the "postal inspector" was indeed a "postal inspector"! Had he taken possession of the package..he is in possession, open or not.

My understanding is, and please double check this, that someone can import a 90 day supply of unscheduled meds for personal use. I think you still need a prescription, however. This was definitely the case when Canadian pharmacies started marketing to Americans. It was common for people who didn't have adequate prescription coverage to legally obtain prescription meds from Canada either by mail or driving there. This law may very well have changed.

This can easily be looked up on the FDA and/or DEA website. But if I looked up every question that ever came up from reading threads on this forum, well then I'd probably never leave the computer.

Not sure where you live, LE here are well aware that they can't pursue anything in an event like this. Besides, no one is looking for the guy who purchased some T3. It's not 20 lbs of powder for production. Like I said, I sign all the time, and even walked into the post office to pick up my package after getting a note in my mailbox. Just my experience.

edit: They know it's from india because they track who hands them the package. Some international shipper sent turned it over to USPS. Same way FEDEX/UPS packages show up via USPS sometimes.

Either way, if in doubt, obviously spy did the right thing. Go with your gut. not worth it either way.

Has anyone read or have experience with wired deliveries? If you're unfamiliar with the term, here is a link and some info from the educational part of the site:

"Wiring packages has begun to become quite common place; the package is wired, once opened a signal goes off that alerts the officiating officers. Without question this is some fantastic evidence for prosecutors as they now how evidence that you not only accepted the package but opened it which by law states the package was intended for you. One the signal goes off a search warrant will be obtained and a raid on your residence or location will ensue. There is absolutely no way to know if a package carries such a device as it will not be visible until the package is opened and it will not make a sound once opened but rather transmit an alert to the officiating agents.

While controlled deliveries of a signature nature are common the wired packages are gaining in popularity and will more than likely become the primary tool in anabolic steroid bust in the very near future. With that in mind there’s no two ways about it, purchasing anabolic steroids on the black market is increasingly becoming a very stupid idea. Is it fair, is it right? We can argue these questions until we are blue in the face but regardless of what’s right or wrong does not change the reality of a situation."

    Steroid Law - Controlled Deliveries

My very strong personal feeling is that until violent crimes (murder, rape, etc), terrorism, white collar crimes, etc. are under control and those without basic needs are attended to, our government needs to stop wasting money on the regulation and enforcement of laws regarding steroids , illegal drugs, and the like. I'm not saying that the local corner store should be allowed to sell crack, for instance. I just think that there are much more important issues than steroids, for instance, that need our limited resources.

I am spooked about ordering gear from an overseas source through the mail. I read a numerous posts on various sites that allude to the fact that packages, especially those coming from places that sell medical supplies are flagged and inspected going through customs; How the DEA visited individuals homes when they sign for packages and/or after a wire type device that LE put on the package has been tripped.....wa la, front door is being kicked opened. I also read when going through customs, the DEA would intercept the package (s) and notify the person expecting the package that they have the package and you will face prosecution if you try to pick the package up. This is why I became a member here. To sit back, lurk and learn.

Good for you. That is not related to this topic, and we've heard you mention that at least 100 times.

that's the point, I've signed for it before, went in and signed.... this was very strange and different, thus my response... when we are dealing with this type of thing, many of us have wives, family, and community standing that could be brought into jeopardy if we are not careful, and it's just not worth it...

I sign for stuff all the time too but its delivered by the mailman not a guy in a suv. You sign for it, unopened or not your accepting the contents. Why sign for a box from India, your not expecting? Even then why not open it? Sounds fishy.

Overseas sources that know what they're doing will always put a different return name and address than the business. If they have been flagged before, every package sent afterwards will also.

USPS employees often use their own vehicles and log their miles for reimbursement. But again... I agree that if in doubt, just let it go... But me, If I ordered T3, I'll even open it in front of him. Nothing can be done. That's just me.
