Question Exogenous Testosterone and Thyroid Function ?

Can anybody and the educated board members shed some light on the effects of high doses of testosterone (lets say 500mg/wk) and it's effects on thyroid function.

I've heard that testosterone can reduce the effectiveness of thyroid medications (synthroid , levothyroxine, etc). Hyper and Hypothyroidism aaa users should be aware of this.

    Thanks folks!

Not sure myself-had a thyroidectomy in 1993. On synthroid ever since and currently on HRT. In my case no effect on my thyroid in blood results but I will say I tend to hold more water than most. And my dose of T is low.

AAS has little to no effect on the thyroid function. It may show a lower Total T4 and T3 level if tested but the free T3 and T4 levels will remain the sme and even in some cases be elevated.
