Horrible headaches!

Sorry I know this is the wrong section but figured I'd get faster responses here.. See below..

So Saturday I had a crazy leg workout, this was probably the hardest I've pushed myself in years.. Mid workout I started getting a really bad headache in the back of my head while lifting. Lasted the entire workout but I pushed through it.

I basically had a dull headache the rest of the day but some Motrin helped it go away. That night I had sex and the headache came back midway through. Just as bad as when I was lifting, this happened again last night during sex again.

Today I tried lifting, doing bench and on the first set again the horrible headache. This time I couldn't take it, stopped lifting and am in the locker room sitting and writing this thread..

Advice? Help?

If its happening constantly I would go see a doctor. I know there's a couple of meds on the forum so you might get a better answer but I wouldn't mess about with your head. Hope it works out bud

Sounds like you may have burst a blood vessel in your head. This could be serious, since it's in your brain...
You should get an MRI done.

As said seek face to face medical advice....this is not one to be diagnosed over the web.

Alright.. Gonna go up urgent care now...

Are you taking anything new, like anadrol or tren?

Ugh! I'm going in for an MRI on friday. That was one of my concerns with my headaches. That or a tumor. Nothing seems to relieve it.

I have an MRI scheduled for Thursday but the doc doesn't think it's anything more then an exertion headache since I only got the initial headache after going hard on legs and when I have sex.

I had a CT brain scan back in Feb with nothing abnormal at that time, highly unlikely something new developed in only a few months.

Unfortunately I couldn't afford having an MRI; but if you can, definitely get one done. I have a history of migraines, and I have had headaches so painful that death sounded like a better alternative. Luckily, I grew out of them; but I still get them from time to time. Perhaps it was my history with major headaches that made me not panic about an incident that occurred a few years back.

I was bench pressing, and I have a tendency to hold my breath in (I know, stupid). Anyway, I always go to failure; and on my last rep after my spotter helped me, I literally felt and heard a "pop" in my head. My vision immediately went blurry, and I would classify that pain as the most agonizing thing I have ever experienced (even surpassing all the other very painful migraines I experienced growing up). Like a moron, I decided to try and finish my workout because it had been awhile (2 - 3 weeks) since I last worked out. It just made it worse, and it got to the point where I wanted to kill myself. I was working out at the recreation center at my university, and I just lay down for a bit. I then had to vomit; and after I puked, I realized how pale I was.

Needless to say, I was concerned that I had a brain hemorrhage; but after diagnosing myself (stupid, I know), I realized I would have been in a coma. I read some experiences from other people; and from what I read, what I experienced was a bench-press migraine. I thought it may have been a cerebral aneurysm, and it may have been a minor one. Scary, I know. It took about two hours for the pain to subside enough to where I could walk on my own to the bus stop to return home. For the next two weeks, ANY form of exertion, even something as minor as jogging for a minute to catch a bus, would trigger a major migraine (nothing compared to the initial one, but very painful nonetheless). I was legitimately concerned that I would never be able to exercise or have sex again. I was afraid to do anything for fear of these migraines. Luckily, my temptation to play basketball got too great; and I played a game. I didn't experience any headache, and I haven't experienced any symptoms since. From now on, I am VERY conscientious when I am lifting. I make sure to always breathe and never hold my breath in.

Despite my experience, you really should get it checked out. I didn't have the money to get checked out; but if I did, I would have gotten an MRI as soon as possible. I hope everything works out for you my man. My advice would be to not do anything physically exerting for a few weeks. I know that will be hard, but it worked for me.

I don't have money for the MRI that's my problem or I woulda just went to the ER. The last time I went I and got the CT, the whole thing set me back 4000... How your describing what happened on bench was somewhat how I felt when I was finishing my last reps on squats, can't recall if I was breathing correctly or not but horrible pain followed.

I'm hoping I'm feeling alot better by Thursday so I don't feel like I must have the MRI done. I'm definitely taking a week or 2 off to let things heal up...

Dude coming from someone who's family suffers from severe headaches( cluster, migraine) I take self administered hi-po shots. My brother had an aneurism, don't play games with your headaches cause 4000 compared to a grave seems like a good trade. If you bleeding in your head its very serious. Get checked, fully

I've suffered from Migraines my entire life. What OP describes sounds more like a tension headache which typically occurs at the back of the head & down into the neck region. I get these too once in awhile from stress and/or over exertion. Try some Excedrin Extra Strength (contains Aspirin, Acetaminophen & Caffeine) which is good for this type headache. Believe it or not, the simple answer may be that you're not breathing correctly during work outs. I experienced this when I first began working out & playing football in my teens. Just something to think about...

remember that roid increase the blood presure and that cause a headaches

check your sugar level too

I'm 28.. Blood pressure was 130/80 at the doc yesterday, no gear usage. Sugar levels are fine also. No headaches today but the top of my neck and traps are extremely sore and tender like I pulled something..
