IS it possible to add 40lbs to your bench in 2 weeks WITHOUT gear?

Im not one to call bullshit much, but I call bullshit on this. He claims he is just using advocare post and pre workouts. Bro also says he added 90lbs to squat in 2 weeks time. What do you think. Even on gear I think this is just a selling technique to the people that don't lift that want to get in shape.

It's possible mate.
I've been hurt before and had to take a break. And when I came back, I was adding 10 pounds (including reps) twice a week.
But....
....ordinarily I would say no, if......
you are on your game and you've been pushing hard for awhile. That's a lot of weight in a very short amount of time

If he is a newb, those first six months can be explosive!
so it really depends on where he is at in his training

Early in someone's training it is possible. Not always probable but definitely possible.

I liked how he tells us he was tall and skinny but as we could see his pre/post workout sups changed all that... However did anyone see a pic of him when he was tall and skinny in the commercial? Maybe I missed it...

no I didn't see that either. I kept thinking the only way possible would be if he took a long break from training, or was just starting. He clearly didn't just start training, as he is fair sized guy. And even just starting, 14 days for 40lbs I mean damn that's crazy. Of course im sure he would deny any use of gear, he obviously has used. Also, competing at 227 at 6%? im not a guru, but he must be over 6 3. Hell shawn rhoden competed last year at what, 232?, and hes not that short.

i was dumbbell benching 42.5kg for 8ish reps at one point before i suffered from a work related shoulder injurery which resulted in me not gyming for 2 1/2 months. when i finally got back to the gym my first chest session max i could do was 25kg for 8-10 reps, week later i was doing 32.5kg for 8-10, a week after that i was at 40kg for 8 reps
