Sore/swollen Knee after Pinning Quad??
Around Knee is pretty swollen and very sore and tender after yesterday's injection. 500mg Test E. Last week I had the same thing just didn't think it swelled as much, just sore (last week was left quad, yesterday was right quad). Am I injecting too low on quad? Too shallow was also suggested to me? Any advise? Also maybe just a virgin Muscle or am I doin something a bit wrong? Thanks ahead of time

this happened to me once where I pinned to low and ended up with swelling in the knee...I think it was the compound pooling up in the knee but I don't really know...what I doo know is it eventually was absorbed by the body and went back to normal in a week or so...you will be fine you just have to wait it out bro....ohh and pin higher than you previously did...

I never understood why the hell the term pin the quads ever came about?
The quads are the four muscles,
1.Rectus Femoris
2.Vastus Lateralis (Externus)
3.Vastus Intermedius
4.Vastus Medialis (Internus)
that work together to extend the lower leg. The only muscle that you should be pinning is the Vastus Lateralis and the only place this muscle should be pinned is the approximately 4 inch section mid thigh (midway between the hip and the knee).
Hope this helps.
PS while the glutes are the largest, pretty much free of veins and nerves and hold the most volume and the Delts are easy to hit and pretty much free of problems. IMHO the Vastus Lateralis should also be used as its always wise to rotate sites and as long as you are careful where you inject and have enough sense to back out if something feels off, its a pretty friendly site.

All of this ^^^^ very wise. Even your summary. IMOP.
Also OP your Test might be a more prone PIP type. But mostly I agree that you may have pinned too low. It sounds reasonable.
But the post above has a good description of the glutes and the Thighs (quads). I have found my quads to be very sensitive and if I Have to get right into that spot 4" above min from the knee or It doesn't go good. Be calm and stay cool ...crazy mike

Thanks for the help all. I'll go deeper and higher next time on my leg. This is my first cycle so I wanted to be in most control until I felt comfortable with pinning, and I have the most control in front of me, sitting and pinning my quad, now I'm getting better hang of it all, I'm going to try Glutes next week.
Also, Massive, I understand the "quad" is not one muscle, I'm a PTA and have gone through plenty of anatomy and physiology to understand the muscles in my entire body, but I say "quad injection" becaause in terms of pinning IM, I assumed everyone would assume I'm pinning the outside of my quadriceps, the VL.Last edited by dlynch1992; 08-25-2013 at 04:17 PM.
