    low testosterone, upset with DR

I am 47 yrs old have worked our 3 days a week with private trainer. Last yr switched trainers. My old trainer has me doing no cardio and all pyramiding weights. I could bench 290lb but was not very cut. I have noticed in the last yr my cardio is tons better, but my steingth has gone down to the fact I do a lot oc core work and still bench but max out at about 250lb now. also I am putting on some weight in my waist. My trainer told me to go get my testosterone level checked. I did and it was at 159. My urologist put me on 1cc per every 10 days for 1 month then we are going to do a bone scan and recheck my levels. With this amount of 1cc per 10 days what should I expect short term and long term. Now for some hind sight. 5 months ago I went to my regular dr and asked to have this test. It came back at 161. My Dr said this was in the normal range. So I let it go. After talking to my Urologist today, I am pissed at my Primary care DR.

    Yeah assuming that's ng/dl, that's quite low

Is it in the normal range for a 47 y/o man? Yep, but most men at that age have low test. You want to be in the upper range of a 20 y/o man. Talk to your doc.

It's low. Point blank. Labcorp range is 348 - 1197 or so. You're low and need a better doc. Even your new doc doesn't understand the half-life of testosterone if he put you on a once every 10 day protocol. Spend some time reading the sticky threads here at the top of the forum for some great info. You need a better protocol. There will be more to this than just testosterone. Find a better doc or visit LowTestosterone.com - $199 All-Included Testosterone Treatment

In my opinion it would have been nice to know exactly what put you at that low level. Is it just age related, pathology, testicular issues? Are you primary or secondary, etc. Determining a cause impacts future treatment.

ps: Welcome to the forum liferider.

Different labs use different acceptable ranges for testosterone levels . So, you need a doctor, Dr. Thomas O'Connor, who is experienced if not an expert in testosterone replacement therapy. You need a doctor who knows how to dose accordingly not only in amount but how often its administered. To low or high of a dose can have other medical side effects that you should know about and the frequency is just as important to keep proper blood levels. A great place to read up on this or to seek medical attention is at Please no advertising

My Urologist took a second round of blood to check for a tumor which can cause low Testosterone . He said my range should be between 350-900. He also said to do my injections every 10 days instead of every 14 days now.

I assume he's looking for a pituitary adenoma? He didn't already have good blood work?

He pulled blood to get my testosterone level and my PSA level. When the number came back so low he had more blood pulled for the Pituitary ademona test. The Psa was .07

Alright so lets play , "what if". I started the Testosterone injections yesterday, in 1 month my blood work will get checked. and my number is 210. so then we know the injections are working, and I keep doing the 1cc injections. What would ya'll recommend as far as a steroid to produce size and strength muscle wise? what brand, what product?? How do I take them? I have never done steroids so this is new uncharted territory

There's a section with beginner stacks. And loadsa stickies on it. I'd research enough so u have the knowledge to put one together itself. Always start with a single ester tho. Not this blend crap. U can partly base ur ester on ur goals. Bulk/cut etc.
What's ur stats?. Bf% needs to be relatively low for best results. Although some like to bulk then cut the higher bf% the higher risk of aromatization related problems.
Also get ur trt sorted first as I'd imagine you'd incorporate the dose between cycles.
Make sure ur diets as clean as possible. If you think its good. It probably isn't. Trust me on that one. So diet sections good for that.
Research ur ai's. If ur on permanent trt then pct isn't require as you'll simply "cruise"(go back to trt dose)
    Hope this helps.
