    injection questions about air bubble

I can't get the air bubble out of the syringe every-time before I inject.

Also There is also there is always a little left oil left behind in the syringe as well.

I am thinking instead of flicking the syringe to get to the top and fail removing it every time like a do(and waist a little good gear trying to get it out too)

I should leave the air bubble next to the plunger to help push out all the gear from the syringe?

    What do you guys think?

Don't worry about air bubbles. You can put air into the barrel to push the remaining oils through if you're worried about it.

Yes, you can use a small air bubble to push out all the oil. Don't worry - it won't hurt you.
Air injected into the muscle is nothing like when it goes IV, and even then it takes a lot.

Very common question we've addressed many many times.

It takes nearly 300ml of air injected directly into a vessel to cause an air embolism and fatal event.

    1. You aren't injecting 300ml of air
    2. A proper IM injection won't be in a vessel.

It depends on several factors (age, location, vessel integrity, rate of injection, etc).

An amount as little as 5ml/kg of air can induce effects similar to a stroke. In a vein, 100-300ml at a rate of 100ml/second will result in any number of cardiac events ranging severity up to death. If a gas/air embolism is injected into an arterial vessel, 0.5-5ml of air can be fatal.

You can always get virtually all air out by flicking against the syringe while the needle is still in your ampule. Just push the air back in when it's at the top of your syringe and, when it's gone, slowly retract any amount of oil you may or may not have pushed back in together with the air. Now you should have the CC's you need without any excessive air.

Yes, but not necessary at all.

I always use .15ml of air, to push the last of the oil through my needle..

I leave a small amount of air in my pin to expend everything in the pin.

OMG thank you this is exactly what I was trying to do.

Also a question for you guys. I just tried this and it worked. Could the bubble be the cause of my PIP?

I notice immediately after injection with the bubble I get very lightly sore after injection then the next day it's debilitating. But this time eliminating the bubble with the above method I didn't feel an ounce of soreness injecting my right delt compared to my left delt which was immediately a little sore then got more sore the next day with the bubble. Or My quads that had extreme PIP. But tomorrow I will see if I get any pip in my right delt.

Also with the bubble it is hard to get a accurate measurement from drawing until I tried this method.

    * Tap pin to get bubbles to top, and push out.
    * Dont worry about that little bit in the pin... like really... its part of the game.

Personally I leave a tiny bubble in back. Always have. Tiny bit of air won't cause you any problems. I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable members posted a study on how much it would take to cause u damage in it was surprisingly a lot. But I have no idea where or when or how the study was done I'm afraid. I wouldn't put enough air in to go inside you tho. But that's just me.
