Most people use 10mg Meletonin. If that doesn't help enough add some tylenal (or generic) pm. In more severe cases people use Ambien (oh the stories I could tell) or lunesta.

I've used the "unmentionables". Right now I'm only on TRT dose and 5-10mg melatonin works well for nights I can't sleep.

I have also read good things about need2sleep. I have not used it.
For me Gabapentin has been working but it's not OTC. Recently figured out a big part of my sleep problem is fibermialgia, I though it was sleep apnea but it's not.

Fibromyalgia? Really? That's a bugger. Suffering from a lot of pain?

When I was on Ambien it didnt actually put me to sleep and I would trip out. I would crave bizarre foods, then once I ate them I it would feel like my body was made out of that food and I would pick at my skin (like a crack head). Ambien is intense

I went to my doc, told him I was in training and explained my metabolism really gets going on this diet and it was keeping me up (I didn't mention my gear) He prescribed me zolpidem, the active ingredient in ambien. Works like a charm, love it. Other than occasionally sleep walking into a gas station and eating a dozen glazed donuts at the register and trying to pay with a fist bump, I haven't had any side effects.

Yeah for years. Wake up usually ever 2 hrs feeling pretty stiff, 4hrs every joint hurts. I though it was just normal and ignore it. lol

I tried a memory foam matress and after 2 weeks I swore I was going to die and couldnt figure out why I hurt 3x as normal. Did all the arthritis test, negative. The less I move the worse it it. Finally got rid of the memory foam and it helped.

Tried the gabapenten and started sleeping 6-8 hrs getting up maybe 1x, 2 at the max but mostly none. Still feel sore/stiff but not as bad and not to where it wakes me up.

I had a buddy who used to take that and try to stay awake. It caused him vivid hallucinations. I rarely prescribe ambien anymore.

It's tough to diagnose and treat. There are a range of options. Everyone responds differently. Sounds like you are getting it controlled to some degree. The pain ranges from annoying to debilitating for some individuals. Let me know if I can offer any input but diagnosing it is the first step to effective management so you are at least moving in the right direction!

Ohhh the stories I have about the 2nd wife and her ambien use. hehehehe
It effects women and men differently.

Women loose all/any inhibitions they had before and most anything is g2g.

Men go on eating binges and shopping spree. I woke up after thinking I just nodded off watching TV with an empty bag of Cheetos and most were smashed on my face, shirt, lap and the floor. I was like WTF??? I have also gotten strange packages with stuff I dont remembering ordering off ebay or amazon that I did order.

I use to have some funny videos of the wife sleep walking and talking.

I dont like zopedem as much as ambien. Ambien worked 100% of the time. You just have to lay down immediately after taking it. Zopedem works 80%. I swear there are a lot of blanks.

Very much appreciated. I know pain meds (hydrocodone) doesn't tough the pain/stiffness. Anti inflammatory do a little. I am open to suggestion of course now that I figured out what the issue is.

Yeah, I know plenty of docs that throw OxyContin at it. Not the best option! I'll give you a list of suggestions here or in a PM. I'm off to catch up on some sleep. Been traveling all week.

this is believable, (srs.) i've known friends to do shit like this. when i was living in a dorm my buddy (also my roommate) came home after a long night of drinking, kicked the guy across the hall out of his bed at 5am and went to sleep in it. the guy said my buddy was rubbing on his head, like he was a dog, to get him to wake up and then he gave him the thumb signal to hit the road and that was it. he had no memory of any of it. the guy was so confused. my buddy no shit looses all sense when he drinks, it's pretty crazy. he's a smaller guy, but he is fvcking jacked.

-at the time, the base i was on was like a ****ing prison, we hardly ever got to leave for very long.
one time i was sleep walking and i sleep naked right, and this was when i was a little younger and there was this girl that i had been trying to plug ever since she blew me after our first date. (american indian girl, pretty cute) well i'm fvcking naked with a boner, sleep walking and my roommate (different roommate) is sleeping across the room and i fvcking think this girl i'm trying to screw is him, so i put my hands on his shoulders and get close. all of the sudden he jumps, turns his head around and he's got this expression on his face like he just watched 2 girls one cup for the 1st time. i wake up, realize what the **** i'm doing and then get the **** out of there
