Trying for a while...attempt at TRT
Ok so i'm new here,...posted once about Ibs-d and if it connects to testosterone . Anyway i've had low t for almost 2 years, I've tried for that entire time to go legal about it, and i went through all the tests necessary and when i found an endocrinologist that acknowledged my problems were real (memory loss, tired all the time, feeling exhausted even after a solid 8 hours of sleep and a general feeling of shit). After going for a new testosterone blood test through her among a bunch of other blood work it came back that i had elevated Acth Plasma at the tune of 323.4 and elevated Cortisol also high 27.1 but not as high as the acth. I went through the mri to rule out a pituitary tumor and also did a suppression test and my body responded with appropriately with normal numbers. After that battle i thought i saw the light at the end of the tunnel, well she handed me an androgel prescription after we discussed back when i first met her that i wanted injections because i already didn't hear anything good about the gel and not to mention the fact my ibs-d already drains 3 hours out of my life in the morning, that the last thing i wanna do is add to that time with wiping myself with a gel is just not something i want to be consistently reminded of. Her response for not giving me what i asked for was "you abused steroids before",...in which i was in shock about because i never did any drug and i've told her that from the beginning, i never smoked or did any drug. I always felt that steroids were something i saw in a different light because its something your using to obtain a physique that is unnatural...your not getting stoned. Long story short i went to another doctor and i made the mistake of explaining what happened and she offered me the gel...i figured at this point if it could help i might as well try it..well I've been using it for the past 2 months and I've felt no better and recently she didn't wanna authorize a refill so now i've been off it for 2 days and i had a slight crash but i felt worse on it than i normally do.
I realize you don't need this backstory but i figured that i will explain myself in a shorter version just so nobody can say i didn't exhaust all of my options before resorting to my own trt.
My plan was to order test cypionate and just do 150mg to start out and then go get a blood test about a week or two after the first two shots. And if my levels are high and i'm feeling normal ill leave it...maybe later ill increase the dose or use something along side it but ultimately i'm just trying to regain what i lost and regain my memory and how i should be feeling. Since this is my first ever steroid ...i won't be cycling i want to stay on it to off set my problems and fix myself since i tried everything else with no luck. Do i need clomid, if i'm running a smaller dose than what most people cycle with?
my stats are
24 male
appox 167lbs
5'8-5'9
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Didn't read the first paragraph. Too large for my old eyes...
If you have low T, get treated by a professinal. Self treatment is silly at best, especially at your age. You qualify for a restart - big time.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

A restart?, I appreciate your response but i urge you to read it,...i can't wait any longer...2 years and nothing was accomplished...i can't go on feeling like this..their response was a gel...did nothing but drain time out of my life and now i'm off of it...

Break up that paragraph and I will read it again. I can't read it the way it is. Sorry.

You need to post complete BW. Many things can cause Low T and what you are experiencing and they can be corrected. You're 28, find the causative factor before you jump on the needle. Especially if not under a doc's care. Take the time and find a better doctor who will find the problem. BTW, elevated cortisol by itself can and will suppress Testosterone levels .
You need better BW to include a full thyroid panel.

OP why wouldn't you want to use Gel if they prescribed it to you? It will raise youre test levels and putting on a little Gel is a lot better than pinning yourself.IMO
A little curious about this memory loss caused by low T?Last edited by diesel101; 02-04-2014 at 03:02 PM.

I know your impatient but the best thing to do is try to fix the underlying cause, your 28 and have a long life ahead. Injecting gets old. If you do go on trt you need to use hcg as well (and possibly an ai) to keep the testes functioning, especially if you ever want kids. Keep looking for a good doctor (see the thread about finding one) and go that route. If you self medicate it will make finding a doc to work with harder.

I'm gonna try and post my blood work, i have to modify the pdfs and screen shot them in order for them to post without my personal information. I did try the gel as i said...and it did nothing, i still feel terrible, i don't feel my age as i should, not to mention 4 pumps (lowest dose) got more on my hands than on my body..and it takes 10 minutes to do it right (1 pump wipe it on let it dry, wipe pump 2 etc) and it already takes me 3 hours to get ready...why should i add to that time? not to mention why should i keep using a medication that doesn't make me feel any different?

It could be possible that low t might not be the problem with how you feel.

I hear more bad things about the gel than good. If you go down the trt road, injections are the way to go. I just recommend that you do it under a doctor's care, there are good one's out there but it can be frustrating finding one.

I've been almost a week off the gel and i feel better than when i was on it but i still feel like shit. Tired lack of motivation not to mention why should i continue to work out knowing i'm never going to grow with numbers as low as that...I'd appreciate if somebody here gave me incite on what i should do or where i should go about it. At this point i want to just do it myself..i have older tests dating back 2 years ago...this battle has been non ending, i can't go living my through my 20s feeling like an old man...its simply ridiculous.

You definitely need to find a professional to help you. Your numbers are absolutely terrible and you need someone trained in hormones to help you figure out the cause. Finding a good doc sucks and it is a tedious process but you have to do it. You will thank yourself in the end!
