I have never pinned my quad before and did the first injection of my cycle on thursday night. Well my injection site has no more pain after the first day, but the area above and beside my knee cap is a bit swollen and painful. Is it possible I missed or went through the muscle entirely?
Or is that just the natural progression of the substance and the associated inflamation.
Was using a 25g x 1 and was just shy of being completely in.

Could be any number of a thousand of things. I have had my entire leg swell up upon injection which subsided shortly thereafter. Keep an eye on it, if it is painful, red or warm to the touch seek out medical advice. Sound like virgin injection.

I have heard nothing but bad about calves. Quads were my best, delts second, glutes third, pecs fourth.

My other concern is possibly having wasted 2ml of gear. If it didnt go all in the muscle would it still get absorbed

You did not get deep enough into the muscle. The oil leaked and pooled up at your knee.

Dorsogluteal Muscle or the Ventrogluteal Muscle are the best site, IMO, for an IM shot. You can inject 4 ml in each of the Dorsogluteal and Ventrogluteal there is no maximum amount of medicine for this injection site but I would keep it to 4 ml as well. The Deltoid Muscle can take 1 ml in each. The Vastus Lateralis Muscle can take up to 4 ml in each depending on your size. You should always rotate the injection site and it should be separated from the previous site by 1 inch. You can google the proper way to find each of these muscles and the proper technique to give the injection.

There is no "if" about it. That is what happened.
It doesn't go to waste. Complications would arise if it crashed while sitting there.

Yep. 1 inch pin and you didn't even put it all the way in? Combine that with your symptoms... you definitely subq'd it.
