There is no one answer to that question any more than there is one approach to resolving low T. Some specialists may try a program of HCG before jumping into testosterone therapy. Depending on how low your T is, your age, and other health factors, your specialist will choose a specific clinical management plan (CMP) and follow through before making any changes or adjustments depending on how well you respond.
I've worked with a few young men here who struggled for months to nearly a year with their own specialist whose methods yielded very poor results before we found the proper CMP to stabilize their levels in normal ranges.
Any time you use anabolics on your own, especially when the cycle is poorly run, there is no way to know how much damage you've caused and how long it will take to restart your endocrine system - if at all.
