    Question Multi Shot Vials???

    Hey everyone

I have some DECA at home in a Multi Shot Vial.

I removed the metal strip on top of the bottle.

And i can see a rubber strip where i have to pierce the needle through it.

Now my question is once i pierce the rubber strip and take the needle out, how do i close the hole i made on the rubber strip???
I did not get a lid with it.
I dont want bacteria to go inside the bottle. How do i cover it???

    Please Help. thanks

its rubber so it will tighten up.. not sure how it works but you don't have to worry about that it won't leak..

a mod can help me out here..

pretty much. the holes self seal due to the nature of the rubber but they aren't reusable after the product is gone (like the vials are). just remember to swab the stopper with alcohol before using.

Without getting into rubber plasticity and viscosity, the rubber parts as the needed enters and closes when the needle exits. The hole is effectively "healed". Just wipe the rubber before you go for the second draw.

Hmmm, is it possible that he removed more then just the snap off top?

thats what im thinking... that he just screwed up the whole vial and cant use it now.. IMO...

you only take the flip top off.. so there should still be a metal ring on top of vial, but the center of ring should be the rubber stopper..

    OP, got a photo?

I made sure i removed just the metal flip on top. Nothing else.

Still have the metal strip around it intact, with the rubber stopper in the center.

Just use a 21g needle or smaller to ensure that you don't actually put a hole in the stopper (smaller needles slice through it, leaving a slit that reseals instantly, but do not actually gouge out rubber and leave a hole).
