Thinking of doing my first cycle at 20 year old

I know all the dangers of cycling at that age, but let me explain my situation...

After my last 2 months of cutting, I am at 220 lb 14% bodyfat.

I've been training since I was 14 year old, my stats are 560 deadlift / 495 back squat / 325 bench.

I don't think it's gonna get much better than that, at least not naturally. I've been eating really clean for 2 years, I stopped drinking alcohol a year ago, I change up my training routines every month, and yet most of my gains were in my first 3 years of training, when I wasn't eating as clean or varying the way I train nearly as much.

What I mean is, I've still been making gains, but it's been slower and it's pissing me off. That's why I'm considering cycling even though I know I'm too young.

    What do you guys think?

U said "after your last cutting cycle".....and then go on to list your stats?? So basically what you are talking about is that you have already cycled right? I'm lost here.

Lol sorry I meant cutting cycle not in as in steroid cycle but as in a period of 2 months of cutting... I've never actually used steroids yet.

Well mate not many here are going to advise cycling at 20. There's just too much negative things that can happen that may cause you problems later.

maybe you could try and new program? texas method, wendlers, or smolov etc... stick with one for more than a month. if your lift are really that high, you have to realize that the speed at which you "gain strength" is going to slow. To a moderate lifter 5lbs a week improvement is great... I think you have plenty left in the natural tank

I've already done smolov twice. I've also tried German volume training. I've done a lot of circuit training which IMO is one of the hardest things ever. I'm pretty sure I've done all the hardest programs. My strength gains were pretty good on smolov though.

There isn't an exact age were we all stop developing and growing because this is determined by our genes and DNA, we are all genetically programmed individually and we inherit our genes from our parents. To give an exact age we stop growing would be incorrect because everyone's genetic blueprint is different. The main development of our bodies is up to the age of 21yrs of age but this can vary between individuals. There are parts of our bodies what carry on developing and adjusting slowly up until the age of 25yrs old, an example of this is the brain. The Endocrine system is a part of the brain what is very complex and keeps our bodies in a homeostasis state. Our testosterone levels start raising and roughly peak around 25yrs old and then start to slowly decline, so even though some of us may have stopped growing at the age of 21yrs old, others may still be developing up until the age of 25yrs old.

I have recently spoken to my Endo regarding this matter and he tells me that the HPTA is very sensitive and as many pathways how it regulates the human body, he states steroids disrupt the normal balance of hormones in the body which can cause reversible and irreversible changes at any age but risks are far more if you administrate exogenous androgens during development, this will put you in a very unnatural environment at a crucial time and your hormones should be treated with care especially in the early stages of maturity. The adverse effects can be erratic behaviour of the HPTA and potentially therapy when your older.

I did ask him what age he would think would be the safest as far as risk to damages and he said many endocrinologist suggest full maturation is reached by 25 years of age and this would also give the HPTA time to be established with your natural hormone balance and patterns. I personally feel 24-25yrs old would also be ideal starting point to get bloodwrok drawn to see exact what your natural levels are before starting any kind of cycles and waiting till you have reach your testosterone peak would be a good starting point, for me there is to much evidence over the forums and what I've seen personally over the last 25yrs I've been bodybuilding. Obviously it isn't going to be all 19- 21yr old bodybuilders who suffer side effects what are irreversible but I am edging on the side of caution what age I advice to the newbies.

Like Roman said, I don't think a lot of people are going to be jumping in to give detailed cycle advice to a twenty year old.

Personally, I think your stats are great for your age. Also, you've been training for a long time. Two bouts of Smolov at only 20 is pretty torturous, and shows that you're not afraid to push yourself or do the most agonizing series of shitty exercises you can find in exchange for some strength. Also being 20, you're at the perfect age to start shooting for your state junior records in PLing.

If I were in your shoes, I would start reading as much as I could. Maybe go to Amazon and pick up a used copy of one of William Llewellyn's Anabolic books and read up on some compounds. I'd give myself 3-6 months to read as much as I can (Maybe 6-12 months if you don't like to read for long periods of time). Look up beginner's logs and such and see what everyone else is doing, and what kind of gains they're experiencing. Whenever you have a question, ask people more experienced than you. Research research research.

Its obvious that you have good work ethics with ur stats. But if u are not considering making a living off of ur body i would advuse against it this early. If you screw up your cycles or pct you could permenantly damage ur body. I mean whats the point of getting big and ripped if you cant get it up in the prime of your life? You are gonna do what you want but just something to consider. A 500 bench would be sweet but if you shut down for good who cares? Jody with the little arms will be bangin ur girl.
