Post Injection Paranoia. Do I have an abscess?

2 months ago, I gave myself a B12 injection in my glute that hurt like crazy. About a week after that, I started getting cramps in my legs that I've never had before & more leg soreness in general with no major changes in my workout. I still have a small knot at the injection site that isn't sore to the touch, but it the knot will ache occasionally.

I know this doesn't really fit the symptoms of an abscess, but with the knot ache, leg cramps & increased soreness, it's got me paranoid that I may have an infection of some kind. What do you guys & gals think?

i just had a similar incident, oil in my butt! lol, theres a sterile and bacterial abscess i guess, one is just oil that leaked out or missed the muscle. its clean and will dissolve in time, it is slightly sore but nothing bad. mine took 2-3 weeks to disappear completely. so two months sounds off! maybe you did hit a nerve, but would have noticed when you injected i imagine...

try hot compresses, it worked wonders for me! (rice in a pillowcase)

    Geez

I can't even count the odd shit I had from IM shots

Blood squirt out of tri, giant bruise from hitting a vein, straight knot - but still no abscess - knock on wood

I used to get that way. A few times I injected into my glute and it was sore and had a knot in it for a few weeks. It went away on it's own. It could be allot of things that caused it, but it used to bother me.

IMO, as long as you are swabbing the area, using a new pin and keeping things clean, I think it would be very hard to get an abscess.

If u arent suffering from a fever and showing a bunch of redness i am 99% sure its not an abcess. I got some mean knots from some highly concentrated gear that stuck around for close to a month.

There's a knot in my leg right now. Left quad just doesn't take as well as the right one. Supposed to go skydiving on Sunday. I better be able to walk straight by then.

Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like some times sh!t just happens when you stick. I've only done 2 cycles, so I'm pretty much a rookie at sticking myself.

I'm no longer paranoid, I'm educated.
