Good post. Yeah, women are often underrepresented in clinical trials. And the elderly usually are as well, which can be a real problem given slower metabolism etc. (and ambien is another medicine that certainly can be problem in the elderly for this reason).
the interesting thing about the story is that some of the clinicians were WOMEN. and they thought nothing of the gender bias. They just thought women were the same as men, except men didn't have all the hormonal issues. We are only learning now that the differences in physiology between men and women is much more than just the hormones and sex organs. It is almost like the two are very different, but related species.
In fact, they have proven men are from mars............
......and women are from venus?
