why rubber tops and not just screw top vials?

Since a lot of us are going to be using them ed/eod depending on what it is, why go through the extra needles? why not just get screw on cap vials? I mean we inject air into the rubber top ones anyways to get the pressure up so it comes out easier, so it wouldn't really make a difference right?

    Just asking. Thanks in advance.

you mean you would want to unscrew your seal and dip the needle direct into the oil instead of pushing it through the rubber top?

You don't see any difference in sterility between injecting 1 ml of air into a vial, and completely opening the top and dipping a syringe in there?

I feel like you have an abscess in your near future...

^Bon, so you read it the same way I did. Strange question. Considering the price of a box of 100 18ga needles, I think I'd want to spend the 15 cents on the needle and protect my gear, instead of screwing off the lid of my gear and getting dust particles or cat hair in there?

...or just as bad. Spilling my gear accidently!

Op you could always cut the rubber stopper out and just cover it with plastic wrap until your next shot. Problem solved!!!

It's not like I'm doing this yet. lol. Like I said I was just asking. No I didn't see a huge difference between pumping a ml of unsterile air in there compared to opening the lid on something filling my needle and then screwing it air tight again when I'm done. Because I know ampules are used for some medicines but that is a one time thing I guess. That's why I asked you guys, not for the criticism. For information. Thanks anyways

Because you dont see the little germs doesn't mean they aren't there. Obviously they do it this way for a reason. Someday there will be a better design. Opening it is not a good idea. Just a thought, what happens if you drop it? Most everyone does at one point or another. Open top it all spills out. Rubber stopper and you wipe it off with a alcohol wipe and g2g.

so would it be ok, if/when the wound heals, to just pour it into your eye?

No that's not good, it wont absorb that way. What you need to do is get a funnel and pour it...... Oh never mind, there is already a post on that.

How about storing it in a large glass container with a screw on lid, then running it through a .22 whatman into the sealed vials when they come in?

    Skydeaner,
Did you brew a batch and you don't have any sterile vials?

No, they are just taking forever to get here. Still haven't brewed. But I'm kinda on a time crunch because I have vacation coming up. So yes I was wondering about brewing now wand then right before I leave, filtering into vials when they get here.

Well they showed up early anyways. I'm totally investing a few hundred bucks in a good filtration system. Even with the caulk gun method which I thought was ingenious it took fo eva.

So it will definitely be worth it.

Yes sir. A good old infection would have him thinking twice.

Keep the gear sealed. Avoid contamination if you value your health.
