pin size and length? have i been doing it all wrong?
ive always used 25g 5/8 mainly in my triceps and some times in my quads. now im hearing thats this is way too short that i should be using a 1.5 inch needle. WOW! that seems very long. im not a huge dude and my legs and arms arnt that big either. i also see that alote of different opinions are floating around on the gauge of the pin as well. what does everybody recommend? please take into consideration my quads are 21 inches around. how long of a pin is too long and is there ever any risk of going too far into the muscle maybe even thru it? ive never had any problems with my 5/8 pins. expect a lil pip in the quad area.
thanks guys for you patience.

I always go full depth, however, I have 18 years experience with drawing or pushing substances. Some people prefer the 1 1/2 inch so they can leave 10% of the needle exposed. This usually stems from a fear that the needle would break off in the skin and be difficult to retrieve. It's a matter of preference. If you are comfortable pushing the entire length of the needle into the muscle, 1 inch will suffice. If you are concerned about a needle detachment, 1 1/2 inch leaving about 1/4 of the needle exposed would work.
For leaner areas (triceps, biceps), I have used 5/8 but feel its just too anterior/superficial to the fascia and only use 1 inch for all areas now (pecs, triceps, biceps, traps, glutes, quads, delts).
Quads are tricky and scare off many people. It's easier to hit a nerve in the quads relative to other areas but hitting a nerve will do little harm. The muscle usually twitches and that freaks people out. I hit a nerve in the quad a few times a year. I can usually avoid them, but every so often I hit one.

I would follow MI's advice^^^ Experience there. I've only pinned glutes, have used 1.5 23g only, sink it all the way in, and have been fine. I'm around 12-13% bf, but I have a thick butt. If I were to pin delts or quads, I would go with the 1". Best of luck!

Agreed... I'm only 181lbs 5'10"; and in my tri's and delts I use 23g 1" and in glutes or thighs I use 23g 1.5" pins to get it deeper in the muscle! But my BF% is about 8%(give/take .5%)... So as MuscleInk states 5/8" us small - IMO I wouldn't use anything under an. 1"! 25g us ok but the needle length should be at minimum 1" depending on BF% and Muscle size!!
What's your BF%?? Stats??
Have a good one my man ... Hope Mathis clears things up buddy!

I use 28 gauge 5/8 inch slin pins for every injection. I've been doing it this way for 6 years with zero issues so far. I rotate among glutes, quads, and delts.
The only limitation with these is that I can't inject more than 1 cc at a time. That's not an issue with TRT and low dose cycles.

I use 1.5's for everything. On glutes and quads I go full depth, on delts and arms I go only about an inch deep.

I don't see a need to go more than 1" into quads unless you have really high bf but then you shouldn't even be cycling if that's the case. 25G 1" pin is my weapon of choice.

I use 2/3", 22g for delts only. No problems for me. And 20g, 1" for glutes also no problems here either!
