Protein intake on Test/Primo. Am I taking too much?

    Hi guys,

I'm currently in week 5 of

    1-13 300mg Test E
    1-13 800mg Primo

    Stats:

    26 years old
    200 lbs
    9/10% bf

My goal is to keep cutting and gain muscle. My current diet is as follows:

    2475kcal
    300gr protein
    184gr carbs
    52gr fat

Now my question is, am I taking TOO MUCH protein for this cycle? I'm gaining mass at a slow but steady rate. However, I'm wondering if I would be better off decreasing my protein to about 260grams a day for example, as I'm currently possibly too high considering I'm low on carbs and fats?

    What are your thoughts

I can cite sources that say on 600 mg test that 55% protein intake of calories and 1000 over TDEE resulted in LBM gains and fat loss. I think you are right around 55-60% protein. Everybody and every body is different but you seem to be in the sweet spot.

Pretty low calories to gain much mass. Thats less than what I use to cut. Adding a few more carbs will help for sure. You're not having too much protein but I think your body is using protein for energy, and the body spends energy to convert protein to energy compared to carbs. Just play around with your carbs and see how you feel at the gym.

Well my main goal is definately to cut (recomp actually because im gaining mass). But I don't want it to be a waste to consume so much protein that my body uses it as an energy source. My main goal is to get to about 7/8%

Maybe I should up my fat intake a little bit?

In the gym I feel fine by the way, no issues.

I wouldn't go any lower than 270 grams of protein a day for you.

Your TDEE is pushing 3,200 cals/day

so you are in a deficit of almost 700 cals/day. Realistically, you should try to preserve muscle. Can't see how you are going to gain much muscle at all. But you should lose significant bf%

take a look at the numbers and let me know what you think

Does this calculation take into account the fact that I'm on anabolics?

While I understand I'm in a hardcore deficit, I'm still gaining muscle

I just ran this cycle/with anavar at the end for six wks...total 12 wk cycle!

    Prop .75mg ed - 525mg wkly/Primo - 1.0mg/cc ed - 700mg wkly/anavar wks 6-9-60mg ed - wks 9-12 80mg ed!

I went from an injured shoulder keeping me from my 6 on 1 off split & weighed 164lbs w/BF% 10.9% b4... Now in my second wk of PCT and am weighing 180-181(eating at a surplus of my TDEE) but dropped to 8.1%BF(both were done w/a bodpod) very accurate!

So I was able to gain a good amount of weight plus(16lbs... Hope to keep 9-10 lbs)was also able to cut and gain LBM... I'm a big fan of this cutting cycle but you can get more gains if you up your test e to maybe 600mg and front laid with prop til wk 6 ...

As far as your protein intake your rite around the sweet spot... But would advise to up your fats like Bonaparte said, too... Maybe like 60grams ed ok more than 65grams IMO!

Looks well - good luck bro!
