What made you think it was time for gear?
Browsing through the forum I often run into posts where the OP seems to want or is already in a cycle but has little workout history or workout gains. Saw a post where I person was 175 and almost 20% body fat and is now on gear.
Am I wrong in thinking that you should build a solid foundation of hard work before considering alternatives?
Sorry if I should like shallow Hal. Just that at 175lb. I feel that it's easy to maintain low body fat.

Wouldn't that depend on your height?

If you read the threads on this forum. They all suggest 3-5yrs of training experience and a good knowledge of the compounds that you're thinking about taking. So yes you are correct.
Fact is if you don't look good natural. You won't enhanced! Proper training and diet is the key. But some are just lazy.

These two statements are kind of conflicting since you can lose bodyfat and build muscle with a bad diet on a ton of compounds. Will either goal be maximized? No, but it happens all the time.
20% BF is not that high. Most of the world record lifts were made at this level of fat. There are for sure examples of this where its not the case; Dan Green, Stan Efferding, Sam Byrd, Lillibridges. The difference is that these are at specific weight classes vs the hippopotamus size lifters who just set the all time records.
This makes sense as when your BF levels are higher your body is not trying to break down muscle for energy, it will spare it. Increased body weight will also help with leverages whether that increase comes from muscle or fat doesn't really matter.
175 is tiny unless your like 5'5". Dan Green is 5'10" and weighs 235-245 and he stays shredded mostly year round.

I understand your point, but I was just trying to say that knowing proper diet and training will yield the best gains. Yes gear will improve you without much work.
The point is that if that is your only goal. You could most likely reach it without taking anything. What's wrong with at least busting your butt for a few years without the use of gear?
And you are mainly talking about strength. Not looking good. I thought the OP was more concerned with appearance. Of coarse taking a bunch of compounds will make you strong as long as your shoveling food into your face. But you will probably look like a water balloon!

I will also add. That without a few years of training experience. You greatly increase your chances of injury.
Your joints will be underdeveloped to hold the force of your newly enhanced muscles. Not to mention knowing proper lifting techniques.

I do agree that at least 4-5 yrs of experience of weight training is necessary. After that some people hit plateaus that are hard to break and thats when juice should come to play. Education and work ethic is the key to attain a good physique!

All I saw was mention of BF and the tone seemed rather judgmental. 20% isn't really that high but people preach against it because there are far more bodybuilder types than powerlifters. I was also making note that BF level doesn't and shouldn't dictate when you start a cycle. Many other things to consider first.
