    Lightbulb Newbie question

Before I start, please no trolls, or bully's, etc, thank you. I know that most of you will think, and probably for good reason, that what I'm about to propose is stupid. But please give me real answers, and not just "Lol you're stupid, and I hope you go through with this so I can laugh at you". Alternatively, if you think this is a good idea, I'm quite excited

I'm 23, weigh 80 kg, I've got a bit of gym experience spanning over about 6 years, but in my current state I haven't maintained any of my previous gains. The point is, I have good lifting technique, however at this moment I do not have gym muscles.

I am considering steroids and currently doing research. My question is basically this: Since I don't have gym muscles, if I start working out and taking steroids for 3 months, will I keep the gains from using steroids when I come off the drug, if I continue to lift afterwards?

if so, how much of the gains will I keep?

    Cheers guys

Edit: I need to clarify something. The reason I haven't maintained gains isn't because there was a problem with my program or diet. It's simply because I stopped lifting

Because everyone who decides to start working out, is doing it for the results! :P point taken, however, can you tell me the answer to my question?

He answered your question. The answer is no. You're asking if steroids will give you permanent gains and they won't.

If you can maintain any gains you make its because your diet lacks and maybe your lifting routine too. Having good lifting technique is only a small part of the jigsaw. We have a dedicated lifting and a dedicated diet forum that you should visit.

    Good luck.

Simply "No", by itself, isn't a real answer.

It sounds logical that if you are at your natural limit of muscle size, and you take steroids to break that limit, that you will lose those gains after going off steroids. I'm talking about something different though. I'm saying, you haven't built any muscle at all (so, well within your natural limit of muscle size, obviously), then you take steroids, while simultaneously implementing a good diet and gym routine, for the next 3 months; will you maintain your gains, and make further gains, if you stop with steroids?

Thanks, yeah, I'm aware that a good diet and lifting routine is important. The reason I didn't maintain my gains is no mystery because, I simply stopped lifting.

    Cheers

No, you wont keep your gains because you wont stay committed with your training and diet to do it. Using steroids is a serious commitment and shouldn't be considered by anyone with such a casual on again off again relationship with training. If you're serious about this, prove first that you can make and keep solid gains natural for at least a couple years first.

Ok, so, basically, you're saying that you would keep the gains. Is this all of the gains? Part? How much?

Judging from the face of that guy in the video,it's more like "5 years of transformation".

You won't keep any of your gains because it sounds like your diet isn't dialed in. Your not making any progress or keeping your progress because your not eating enough. You may say that all you do is eat and eat but if your not gaining then your not eating enough. Steroids isn't something that's magically transforms you if your not eating enough to support the mass that your putting on your frame. My advice to you is to go to the nutritional forum. Post up what you'd eat in a whole day along with the Marcos and have it critiqued. If you haven't already, download the my fitness pal app to help you keep track of your Marcos. It will do it all out for you. No one can actually stop you from doing a cycle but listen to everyone. Their out there to help you. I couldn't gain weight for the life of me. Even if I ate fast food every meal. Once I dialed in my diet I gain muscle pretty fast. I had to force eat because I wasn't used to eating so much. 25 years old is the minimum age that you should start to cycle. Cycling at 23 you might recover fine but why risk it.

OP - simple answer is that most of your gains will be water weight and go away shortly after. Doesn't matter if you are at a plateau or not.

You will also be a very high risk for injury. You will have strength gains that your joints and ligaments can't handle.

Most helpful answer yet. Gains most likely lost, due to injury.

    Is your goal possible? Yes.
Is it probable? Given your disclosed history, Nope...
Get a solid year of natural gains, to be proud of. Dial in the dedication and diet. Strengthen your connective tissues. Then, reassess your goals.
